Update the software on your Samsung monitor.
Keeping your Samsung monitor's software up to date ensures optimal performance, enhances functionality, and often introduces new features and improvements. In this guide, we will walk you through the essential steps to update the software on your Samsung monitor, helping you make the most of your display experience
You can have software updates installed automatically while you're using your monitor if the device is online. When you turn on the device again after the update has been finished, it will be activated. Also, auto-update is automatically turned on when you accept the Smart Hub Terms and Conditions during initial setup.
Auto-update is enabled through the following steps:
- Select Menu, then Settings, and then select All Settings, then tap Support.
- To turn Auto Update off or back on, click Software Update, followed by Auto Update.
Note: For around two years, the majority of smart TVs and monitors will receive upgrades with new functionality. Updates may still be released, although they will usually address problems.
Downloading software updates as soon as they are made available will help you get the most out of your device.
- Go to Settings menu, then choose Support
- Choose Software Update, then Update Now.
- The installation of fresh updates will take place. Updates typically take a few minutes; kindly wait until they are finished before turning the device off. It will resume automatically after the update is complete. Choose OK to close the window if there are no new updates.
Visit the Samsung Download Center to get the most recent software updates. To access the support website for your particular model, either search for your model number or choose your product type, and then search for your smart TV or monitor. Find the firmware file for your device under Downloads on the Support website. Install the most recent firmware version if you discover numerous versions. To download the compressed file, choose Download next to the firmware version.
- Locate the file once it has completed downloading, and then unzip it. There is often only one folder there; however, there could be more files.
- Do not put any of the files that were contained in the zip file within any other folders; instead, copy or move them all to a USB flash drive. The TV or monitor won't recognize the program folders if you store them on a USB flash drive inside another folder.
- Put the USB drive holding the software update in a USB port on your computer or other device.
- Use the remote control of your device to go to Menu, then Settings, and finally Support. Choose Software Update, then choose Update Now. When prompted, choose yes.
Note: The USB disk will be checked by your device for update files. Installing the latest software requires following the on-screen directions. Please wait until the update is finished before turning off the monitor, as updates typically take a few minutes. When the update is complete, it will automatically restart.
If you're uncertain whether your TV or monitor requires an update and wish to check it yourself, you can access the Software Update menu. Note that this method requires your TV or monitor to be connected to the internet, as a network connection is necessary to download and install updates.
- Navigate to settings, tap All Settings, and then Support.
- Choose Software Update, then click Update Now. Your TV or monitor will start searching for available updates. Please allow some time for the device to identify any updates.
- If an update is detected, it will start installation automatically.
If your TV or monitor is not connected to a network, you can still install new updates by using the USB method outlined in the previous section.
Even when something isn't functioning perfectly, an upgrade might not be readily available right away. Let us assist you in troubleshooting an app if you find that it isn't functioning.
