How to Fix Fabric Softener Not Draining in Your Samsung Washer
If fabric softener isn’t draining properly from your Samsung washing machine, don’t worry! This is usually not a malfunction and can be fixed with a few simple steps. Here’s what you can do:
- Wing Distributor (A): Main wash detergent, water softener, stain remover.
- Rinse Cap (B): For fabric softeners.
- Prewash compartment (C): For the preliminary wash. Apply prewash detergent.
Type 1:
- Compartment A: Main wash detergent.
- Compartment B: Fabric softener.
Type 2
- Compartment A: Fabric softener.
- Compartment B: Liquid detergent.
- Compartment C: Bleach.
1. Detergent Remains in Drawer
- Ensure the rinse cap is properly inserted.
- Add detergent in the center of the drawer.
- Run a Rinse + Spin cycle with an empty drum to remove leftover detergent.
2. Softener Doesn’t Drain
- Clean the detergent drawer regularly to avoid buildup.
- Check water pressure and clear any blockages in the inlet hose screens.
- Ensure your washing machine is level to avoid clogs.
3. Detergent Dispenses Before Cycle
- Avoid overfilling the dispenser. Overfilling triggers the siphon, causing detergent to enter the drum early.
For front-loading machines:
- Open the drawer and remove the components.
- Clean under running water using a soft brush.
- Reassemble the drawer and slide it back into place.
For top-loading machines:
- Open the door and the built-in sink.
- Remove the wing distributor and rinse the cap.
- Clean the parts under running water, then reassemble.
- Use warm water (40°C) to dissolve detergent.
- Avoid using too much detergent, as it may not dissolve fully.
- Always use low-suds detergent designed for automatic washing machines.
