My Samsung washing machine drum begins to spin without any water

Is it common for the drum to spin without water when I select a wash cycle and start the washing?
It is, indeed, normal, as the Automatic Sensing Function is to blame for this.

The amount of laundry will be automatically recognized by the selected program, and the proper water level, wash time, rinse cycle, and spinning time will be set for the wash.

After turning on the power, a program is chosen and the Start/Pause button is clicked. The washing drum will then begin to spin without any water. This step tells the washing machine how much laundry has been loaded into it. Water will be delivered automatically after the sensing procedure is completed.
