The optimal laundry load size for your Samsung washer
For the best laundry results, make sure your load size is balanced. Both small, heavy items and large, light items can overload the machine, affecting cleaning and potentially causing issues.
Your washer’s capacity, in cubic feet, determines its maximum load weight. Aim for a minimum load of 3 pounds (1.36 kg) for best results.
Load your washer
Small Load: The tub is about 1/3 full, equating to 1 pound (450 g) of laundry per cubic foot of washer capacity.
Medium Load: The tub is about 1/2 full, or 2 pounds (900 g) of laundry per cubic foot of washer capacity.
Large Load: The tub is about 3/4 full, or 3 pounds (1.36 kg) of laundry per cubic foot of washer capacity.
Note: For a washing machine with a 4.0 cubic foot capacity, a 4-pound (1.8 kg) load is small, an 8-pound (3.6 kg) load is medium, and a 12-pound (5.4 kg) load is large.
If weighing your laundry isn't feasible, you can approximate the weight based on common clothing items:
common clothing items
Bath towels : approximately 1.5 pounds (680 g) each.
Full-size bed sheets : About 1.25 pounds (570 g).
Large sweatshirts : roughly 1 pound (450 g).
Extra-large shirts : About half a pound (230 g) each.
Your washer automatically adjusts settings based on load weight and cycle. Load clothes loosely, ensuring large items fit without cramming. Limit heavy fabrics to 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and comforters or blankets to 6.6 pounds (3 kg).
