Wash whites in your Samsung washer
Keeping white clothes bright can be challenging, from spills and stains to accidental color transfers. But with the right techniques and whiteners, restoring them is easier than you might think. This guide will show you how to use your Samsung washer to tackle stains and keep your whites fresh.
For best results, wash white items like socks, sheets, and towels in hot water, but always check care labels first to ensure the fabric can handle it.
Note: Never place chlorine bleach in the detergent compartment. Always use the designated bleach compartment, which is separate in top-load models.
Delicate white garments such as sheer shirts, blouses, and undergarments can be safely washed in your washing machine, but it’s crucial to use the appropriate settings to protect their fabric.
Note: Only use chlorine bleach in the bleach compartment, not the detergent compartment
Beyond socks and sheets, your wardrobe likely includes a variety of other white garments. Here’s how to handle them effectively.
Note: Chlorine bleach must not be added to the detergent compartment. It should only be used in the designated bleach compartment or in top-load models' separate compartment.
Locating the bleach compartment in your Samsung washing machine varies depending on the model type. Below is a detailed guide to help you identify its placement:
Note: for top-load models: lift the lid of the washing machine. You'll find the bleach compartment on the front left side, easily accessible and marked.
Note: for front-load models: pull open the detergent drawer located on the front left side of the machine. The bleach compartment is clearly labeled and separated within this drawer.
Note: for FlexWash models
- For the upper washer, open the top door; the bleach compartment is on the top left side.
- For the lower washer, open the front cover; the compartment is situated between the detergent compartment (left side) and the softener compartment (right side).
Determining the correct amount of bleach for your laundry is crucial for effective cleaning without damaging fabrics.
Check garment care tags: Always review the care tags on your clothing to confirm if bleach is suitable. Not all fabrics are bleach safe, and using bleach on unsuitable materials can cause irreversible damage.
Measure according to packaging: Refer to the bleach packaging for guidance on how much to use. This usually varies depending on the load size and the level of soil. Measure the bleach carefully to ensure you're using the right amount.
Using the bleach dispenser:
- For liquid bleach: Pour it into the designated bleach compartment, ensuring not to exceed the max line. Overfilling can lead to premature mixing with the load, which might affect clothing color and texture.
- For top load washers with a direct pour hole: Add the bleach directly into the designated hole; it will remain there until the correct phase of the wash cycle.
Note: The bleach compartment is exclusively for liquid bleach. If you choose to use powdered bleach, add it directly into the tub along with the clothes.
Routine maintenance: Regularly clean your washer to prevent bleach residues from causing rust and other damage over time. This helps maintain the efficiency and longevity of your machine.
