How to Migrate WhatsApp Data from iPhone to Samsung Phone
You can transfer your WhatsApp data from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy phone. The data that can be transferred includes your account information, profile photo, individual chats, group chats, chat history, media, and settings. Follow this guide to find out how you can easily migrate your WhatsApp data.
- Samsung SmartSwitch app version 3.7.22.1 or greater installed on your new device
- WhatsApp iOS version 2.21.160.17 or greater on your old device
- WhatsApp Android version 2.21.16.20 or greater on your new device
- Your new Samsung phone must be operating on Android version 10 and above
- USB-C to Lightning cable (or equivalent adapters)
- Use the same phone number on the new device as on the old device.
- Your new Samsung phone must be factory new or reset to factory settings.
- Your new Samsung phone should have storage space that is at least equal to or more than the total storage space currently being used in your iPhone regardless of the exact data you are transferring.
Note:
- If you previously backed up your new Samsung phone without WhatsApp or you skipped the backup process when setting up your phone, start from Step 1.
- For factory-new Samsung phones, start from Step 4.
Note:
- You cannot transfer your call history, display name or peer to peer payment messages.
- Your old device will still have your WhatsApp data unless you wipe it or delete the app.
- Transferred data will not go to cloud storage through this process, as it was transferred through a cable.
