New kid/family experiences on Galaxy Z Fold5/Flip5
From One UI 5.1, there will be child accounts, “Get location” and “Shared family album” features, and the “Manage phone screen time together” feature for parents and children at the time of Galaxy Z Fold5/Flip5.
In addition, children will be able to use Samsung Health with their own account, so they can check their own walking, exercise, and activity levels through Samsung Health.
How can I create a child account and link family accounts?
After creating the child's account on the parent’s phone, the child can log in with the created Samsung account on their own phone.
Create an account by going to:
Settings > Samsung Account Profile > Family
on the device signed in with the parent or guardian’s Samsung account.
For the locations of family members, can parents and children see each other’s locations?
Only the family representative can see the location of the children. (Other family members cannot use the “Get location” feature)
The family representative is the person who created the child's account.
What data can I share with friends and family, and how?
In the case of sharing, children can use :
- The MDE experience allows them to share their data with other devices through the cloud backup/restore feature, and use the Share feature like adult users.
For example, users can share contacts, schedules, messages, photos, videos, files, etc. using Quick Share, which is also used by existing adult users.

- Shared family albums that families can share are provided
Where are the family albums stored? What is the storage capacity?
Family albums are stored in the cloud and can be shared with up to 6 family members, with a maximum capacity of 30GB (5GB/person).
