What is Maintenance mode feature?

Last Update date : 2024-12-04

In order to prevent user’s personal data/information from leaking on the mobile device, Samsung is adding features to reinforce personal information protection and security on the mobile device. Maintenance mode is a setting mode to hide personal data and information by user on the device before leaving it to the repair engineer for repairing service.

Features of Maintenance mode and how it works:

It creates a separate user account for accessing limited data and information which is excluded personal data/information.

That method is using Multi-User Mode(MUM) so that it provides another user account just for Maintenance mode.

1 Customer data protection.

No access to photo/video, contact/message/call history, and so on.

2 App usage restriction.

Only the preload system apps are available, re-authentication and re-login are required to use the apps.

3 Automatically deletes data and accounts generated during Maintenance mode.

It supports all Android T OS versions and newer.

You can turn on the Maintenance mode in the Settings menu and then the device will be rebooted automatically.

And after that, it will not be accessed to photo / video, contact/message/call history, and so on but only be accessed to preload apps

(re-authentication and re-login are required to use the apps)
