3. How often should I change the water filter on a Samsung fridge? We recommend replacing the water filter every six months. The fridge's water filter light will let you know when those six months are up. The filter light should be reset after changing the filter. The frequency of changing your water filter may vary depending on the quality of your local water and how much you use your dispenser. To check if it's time for a new filter, try this: first, dispense some water with the filter in place, and then again without the filter. If there's a noticeable difference in how quickly the water flows, it's time to change the filter, regardless of whether the indicator light suggests a change is needed.
