Unable to register a Samsung appliance to SmartThings

- Check the distance between your appliance and the router: Ensure that there are at least three Wi-Fi signal bars displayed on your appliance for adequate signal strength. If the appliance supports Smart Control in AP mode, stand next to the appliance with your phone to check the Wi-Fi strength. If the appliance is too far from the router, consider installing an additional router or a repeater to extend the coverage area in your home.
- Follow the appliance instructions for network connections: Make sure to carefully follow the instructions provided by the appliance manufacturer for setting up the network connections. This may involve selecting certain options on both the appliance and your phone's display or panel.
- Turn off mobile data on your phone: Disable the mobile data connection on your phone to avoid any potential conflicts with the Wi-Fi connection. Access your phone's Settings, tap Connections, then Data Usage, and toggle off the switch next to Mobile data.
- Disconnect from the current network if necessary: In case you need to disconnect from the current Wi-Fi network, go to Settings, tap Connections, then Wi-Fi. If your phone is already connected to a network, tap on the Settings icon next to the network name and select Forget. Then, choose the name of your router from the Available networks list, enter the Wi-Fi password if required, and tap Connect.

If your appliance has the Smart Control function, press and hold the Smart Control button until "AP" displays on the panel.
- Verify the Wi-Fi network strength on your phone: Open the Settings on your phone, navigate to Connections, and select Wi-Fi. Ensure that the Wi-Fi strength for the network your phone is connected to displays three or more Wi-Fi signal bars.
- Assess the network distance between your appliance and the router: If the Wi-Fi icon is displayed on your appliance, ensure that there are three or more Wi-Fi signal bars. For appliances using the Smart Control function (AP mode), stand next to the appliance with your phone to check the Wi-Fi strength for the network.
