Mastering the use of your gas stovetop begins with understanding the burners. These essential components release and ignite gas, providing the heat needed for your culinary creations.

1 Select your burner: Start by identifying the burner you wish to use. Burner indicators, located above each control knob, display which burner corresponds to each knob, ensuring precise control.
2 Ignite the burner: Gently push in the control knob and turn it to the Lite position. Listen for a clicking sound; this signals that the ignition system is actively working.
3 Adjust the flame: Once the burner is lit, adjust the flame to your desired intensity by turning the knob between LO and HI. This allows for precise heat management for different cooking needs.

4 Turn off the burner: After cooking, ensure safety by turning the control knob to the OFF position to extinguish the flame.

In the event of a power outage, you can still manually ignite the burners using a long gas grill lighter with care. Here’s how to safely light your cooktop or range:

1 Position the lighter: Hold a long gas grill lighter close to the burner you intend to use.
2 Activate the gas flow: Press and turn the control knob of the chosen burner to the Lite position. This action starts the gas flow.
3 Ignite the burner: Ignite the grill lighter to light the burner. Ensure the lighter is near the gas outlet for a successful ignition.
