Galaxy Note10 - Add app shortcuts (SM-N970W, SM-N975W & SM-N976W)
Yep, you read that right. You really can add shortcuts for almost everything you want on your phone. Add shortcuts to the Lock or Home screens, and access your favorite apps without all the hassle.
Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for smartphones sold in other countries.
You can have a maximum of 5 apps on the favorite apps bar. Before you add a shortcut, you may have to remove at least one app. To remove Home screen shortcuts, touch and hold the app you want to remove, and then tap Remove from Home.
To add, navigate to the Apps screen, touch and hold the desired app, and then drag it to the desired location on the Home screen. If you have so many favorites that picking 5 shortcuts is just impossible, you can create a folder by dragging a shortcut on top of another shortcut. We really thought of everything.
Get your home screen in order, with all your most-used apps lined up right where you want them. Swipe up or down to access the Apps screen. Follow the steps below for multiple ways to add shortcuts to the home screen.
- Touch and hold the app until a menu displays, and then tap Add to Home.
- Touch and hold the app until the home screen is displayed, and then release the app to the desired location.
- Touch and hold the app, drag it to the top or bottom of the screen, and then release the app to the desired location.
Sometimes you need to make a call or take a photo on the fly. You can set up two shortcuts that you can instantly access from the Lock screen.
To add shortcuts to your favorite apps, navigate to Settings, and then search for and select App shortcuts. Tap App shortcuts again. Tap Left shortcut and Right shortcut to set each one. Once the shortcut is set, simply swipe the app shortcuts from the Lock screen in any direction to open.
If you have a lock screen set up, you'll need to enter your credentials before the app opens.
