Galaxy Note10 - Check the forecast with the weather widget (SM-N970W, SM-N975W & SM-N976W)
No more wondering whether you should wear your rain boots or toss a pair of sunglasses in your bag. Since many of us check the weather each morning to prepare for the day ahead, it’s a good idea to add a Weather widget to your phone. That way, you can check the daily forecast right from your Home screen. You won’t be caught on a rainy afternoon without an umbrella ever again.
Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for smartphones sold in other countries.
Touch the Cloud icon on your phone’s Home screen to set the Weather widget. You will be asked to use your current location for weather prediction. Touch OK to accept, and the weather prediction for your current location will be set automatically. It’s that simple! Using your current location ensures the widget conveniently adapts if you travel to a new area.
Need to change the temperature unit? Just touch the Weather widget to access the Weather screen. Touch More Options (the 3 dots), and then touch Settings.
Touch Unit to use Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C). Even more options are available on this screen. Auto refresh, for example, lets you manage how often the information provided by the Weather widget is refreshed; we recommend setting it to Every hour. You can also manage Weather Notifications directly from this screen.
Maybe you’re planning to move to a different city and you like to check the weather there as well. Not a problem. Touch the Weather widget to access the Weather Screen, and then touch Locations. Touch Add (the Plus icon in the top right corner). Use the virtual keyboard to enter a location name, and then touch the name of the city when it appears in the list to start following the weather forecast there. -
Keep in mind the Weather widget can only display the forecast for one city at a time, and will display predictions for the last city selected. If you want to change the city, simply touch the Weather widget to access the Weather Screen. Touch Locations, and then touch the city you want to follow the forecast from the list of cities preset on your phone.
If you are not satisfied with the settings you previously selected or you are having an issue with the Weather widget, you can reset it and start fresh.
From Settings, swipe to and select Apps. Then, swipe to and select Weather. Touch Storage and then Clear cache. Finally, touch Clear data and the OK to validate your decision. When you come back to the Home Screen, you might still see a weather prediction. If it is the case, simply restart your device or touch the Update icon directly on the Weather widget (bottom right corner).
Tired of seeing nothing but clouds and rain day after day? You can remove the Weather widget if you don’t want to view it anymore. Simply touch and hold the Weather widget until an extra menu appears. Touch Remove from Home and say bye, bye to the widget.
Removing the widget from the Home screen does not delete it from your phone. You can only have one Weather widget on any Home screen of your phone.
As necessary as it is to check the weather, there’s something else that’s very important to see at a glance: the time! There are different Weather widgets available, such as the Weather and Clock widget. Just keep in mind that only one Weather widget can be installed on your phone, so remove the old widget before adding a new one.
Touch and hold an empty area of a Home screen, and then touch Widgets on the bottom of the screen. Swipe to and select Weather. Different layouts are available, the most popular being the Weather and Clock widget. Touch and hold the new widget you want to use and release it. Adjust the frame to customize the size of the widget, and then touch any area outside of the widget to set and use your new widget.
- If you are experiencing any issue with the Weather widget, reset the Weather widget and start fresh again.
- If you see the message “Can’t add more than one weather widget to home screen” while trying to add a Weather widget to a Home screen, it means that a Weather widget is already installed on your phone and has to be removed first. Keep in mind that the widget might be located on a different Home screen.
