Three models – Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 – will be available for pre-order in Hong Kong starting today (January 18). The new Galaxy S24 series introduces Galaxy AI for the first time, opening a new era of mobile AI by creating unprecedented and innovative mobile experience for users[1]. Galaxy AI provides applications beyond imagination in communication, work, creativity and more, encouraging users to integrate AI into their daily lives and explore unlimited possibilities.

Defying Communication Barriers and Strengthening Worldwide Connections

Galaxy AI brings more innovative applications for different scenarios, enriching users' daily experiences. In terms of communication features, Galaxy AI breaks the language and geography barriers with the new Call Assist feature, allowing users to have two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls[2]. Simply select the desired language within the native app and call as usual, the receiver will hear instant voice translation on the other side. The text transcription will also be shown on a split-screen view. When users are going to plan a travel trip and need to contact local restaurants or hotels, or conduct business calls with people from other regions, the feature enables seamless communication without obstacles. The feature can be used without mobile data or Wi-Fi, and even if the receivers do not use the Galaxy S24 series smartphone, they are still able to hear the voice translation. Samsung Knox keeps all conversations completely private and within secured protection.

Galaxy AI also introduces the Chat Assist feature, providing tone and writing style suggestions based on the text content written by the users when using message and other communication apps[3]. The writing styles include professional, casual, social media usage and other styles, allowing users to select the most suitable style according to different occasions. It also analyzes spelling and grammar in the text content and provides editing suggestions. Additionally, Samsung Keyboard currently supports real-time translation in 13 commonly used languages[4], enabling users to instantly translate text content while using communication apps to bring convenient and effective communication.

Enhancing Productivity and Bringing Effortless Working Experience

The Galaxy S24 series introduces Note Assist feature in Samsung Notes[5], significantly enhancing productivity as it helps users to better organize notes. Galaxy AI analyzes and organizes the text content, categorizing the content and suggesting heading or sub-heading, as well as providing various formatting template options to create neat and tidy notes. Users can also set up their preferred format to develop their notes. Besides, Galaxy AI can generate summary instantly according to the document content, enabling users to quickly grasp the key points. Additionally, Galaxy AI can automatically generate the note cover by analyzing the content category, for example, if the note is about a cooking recipe, a food-related icon will be generated as the note cover.

The Transcript Assist[6] feature makes meeting simple as never before. It can identify different speakers in the meeting and convert the voice recordings into text content to generate transcript, providing users with complete and accurate meeting record. It can also translate the transcript into selected language, as well as generate a summary for the recording, saving much time to prepare meeting minutes.

First Smartphone with Circle to Search with Google

In daily life, searching for various content on the internet, such as places, food and clothing, takes a considerable amount of time to get the desired results. And sometimes it is challenging to think of the keywords to start the search. Samsung unveils the Circle to Search with Google[7] feature in collaboration with Google, making the Galaxy S24 series the first smartphone empowered by this incredible feature. With a simple gesture, users can initiate the search and enjoy a more intuitive user experience.

By simply pressing longer on the home button and circling the objects on the screen, users can obtain a concrete search result. Whether it’s a photo or video seen on social media channels, or any content of a video that users would like to explore, such as the outfit of the celebrities, interesting tourist spots, or restaurants, a simple circle on the screen can quickly obtain the relevant information. And depending on users’ location, for certain searches, users can see generative AI-powered overviews that provide helpful information and content pulled together from across different websites, providing more convenient and efficient search experience.

Galaxy AI Redefines High-end Photography to Unleash Creativity

The Galaxy S24 series’ ProVisual Engine[8] enhances the performance and quality of photography through Galaxy AI, allowing users to showcase their creativity at all times. The Galaxy S24 Ultra features Quad Tele System, with new 5x optical zoom lens, 50MP pixel sensor and Adaptive Pixel Sensor, enabling optical-quality performance at zoom levels from 2x, 3x, 5x to 10x[9] magnification with the support of Galaxy AI. The upgraded camera also eliminates shaking and pixelation in long-distance shots. The enhanced digital zoom also show crystal clear images at 100x.

Galaxy S24 series also brings significant upgrades to Nightography. High-resolution and brilliant photos and videos can be captured in any conditions, even when zoomed in or in low-light conditions, under the powerful Space Zoom feature. Galaxy S24 Ultra now captures more light in dim conditions with larger pixel size of 1.4 μm, which is 60% bigger compared to previous model[10]. Galaxy S24 Ultra features wider optical image stabilizer (OIS) to improve inclination and enhance hand-shake compensation, resulting in a substantial improvement in clarity for night photography. Both the rear and front cameras are equipped with Dedicated ISP Block for noise reduction, as well as gyro analysis to distinguish between the filmer’s and subject’s movement, achieving more effective noise removal.

In addition to the upgraded camera performance, Galaxy AI introduces Photo Assist with editing tools, enabling users to make edits like erase, re-compose and remaster photos. The Edit Suggestion[11] uses Galaxy AI to suggest the perfectly suitable adjustments for each photo for easier and more efficient optimizations. The Generative Edit[12] can generate relevant photo content with generative AI. When users want to move or resize objects in photos, Galaxy AI can automatically generate a perfectly blended background in its original spot. When users crook or rotate the photos, Galaxy AI can also fill in the borders accordingly. The new Instant Slow-mo can generate additional frames based on movements to smoothly slow down the speed of the video, creating a more detailed look on slow-mo moments.

Premium Performance for Powerful AI Smartphone

Performance is one of the major focus to utilize various powerful AI features. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[13] is specifically designed for Galaxy users, to enhance the NPU performance for efficient AI processing. All three models of the Galaxy S24 series use displays with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates and peak brightness of 2,600nits, reducing power consumption while providing a superior viewing experience. Corning® Gorilla® Armor[14] on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is optically enhanced and demonstrates superior durability against damage caused by everyday scratches, significantly reducing up to 75% of glare under different light conditions. Together with Vision Booster, users can enjoy a comfortable visual experience even when using the smartphone outdoors.

In terms of cooling performance, the Galaxy S24 series adopts an optimal thermal control system with a 1.9 times larger vapor chamber[15], which efficiently adjusts the surface temperature of the device and maximizes sustained performance power. Ray tracing enables life-like visuals with superior shadow and reflection effect. And through collaboration with industry-leading gaming partners, Galaxy S24 series let users enjoy more optimized popular global mobile games. 

Across the Galaxy S24 series, design enhancements with slimmer and even bezels make it easier to immerse in any viewing experience. Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first-ever Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame[16], enhancing device durability and longevity. Its significantly thinner body enables better on-the-go experience with more comfortable grip. A streamlined one-mass design is used on the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24, satisfying a more aesthetic standard with seamless connection between the device’s rear cover and side frame. Besides, Galaxy S24+ now supports the same level of QHD+ found on Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung Knox Ensures Comprehensive User Privacy

Galaxy S24 series is secured by Galaxy’s defense-grade, multi-layer security platform Samsung Knox. It safeguards users’ important information and protects against vulnerabilities with end-to-end secure hardware, real-time threat detection and collaborative protection. In terms of Galaxy AI functionality, Samsung provides users with options and full controllability to ensure comprehensive protection of their data. Through Advanced Intelligence setting, users can select and approve the data for AI features, and also disable online processing of data for AI features[17]. 

Enhanced Data Protection offers end-to-end encryption, allowing users to connect to other devices while staying synchronized and secure. This ensures the data can only be encrypted or decrypted on the user’s devices, even if a server is compromised or account details are stolen, no personal data will be leaked out. Continued Commitment to Samsung's Sustainability Visions

Samsung is committed to promoting innovation development while continuously improving product design and packaging methods to reduce waste and benefit both humanity and the environment. Galaxy S24 series continues to scale the variety of recycled materials in Galaxy devices by applying recycled plastics, glass and aluminum to internal and external components[18]. For the first time, Galaxy S24 series features components made with recycled cobalt and rare earth elements[19]. In Galaxy S24 Ultra, a minimum of 50% recycled cobalt was used in the battery[20], and 100% recycled rare earth elements were incorporated into the speakers[21].

Galaxy S24 series is also the first Galaxy S series to be designed with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40% recycled steel in the speakers[22], and it includes a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Additionally, every Galaxy S24 series smartphone comes in a packaging box made from 100% recycled paper material.

Lastly, Galaxy S24 series is UL ECOLOGO® certified[23] and its carbon footprint has been measured and verified by The Carbon Trust[24]. It shows Samsung’s contribution and dedication to environmental protection. Samsung remains steadfast in delivering on its set of goals to be achieved by the end of 2025[25].
