Galaxy Unpacked January 2025: what was announced

The wait is over! On 22 January 2025, Samsung’s first Galaxy Unpacked flagship event of the year was streamed around the world from San Jose, California. Samsung's brand-new Galaxy devices were revealed. The Galaxy S25 series – the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25.

All-new Galaxy AI features were revealed, such as smart suggestions, enhanced voice recognition and auto-scheduling, which make daily tasks easier and faster. These features are brought to life with One UI 7, Samsung’s latest mobile interface, which introduces a host of new features that enhance the user experience across the Galaxy device lineup, making it more streamlined, efficient and user-friendly. It focuses on privacy, offering better security controls and more transparency over data usage, ensuring that users have full control over their personal information.

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25. The whole Galaxy S25 range comes equipped with the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset, providing incredible processing power for Galaxy AI and stunning camera capabilities with the next-gen ProVisual Engine.

The star of the show, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, offers the ultimate smartphone experience with a 6.9” display that provides an incredibly immersive viewing experience. With a 120 Hz refresh rate, the display is perfect for everything from HDR content to gaming.

With a groundbreaking 200 MP wide-angle camera, it offers unrivalled detail and clarity, along with a 50 MP Ultra-Wide camera and a lens capable of 100x zoom. This makes the S25 Ultra a true powerhouse for both photography enthusiasts and professional content creators. It’s also the only phone in the range which uses Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2, a brand-new scratch-resistant, anti-reflective glass ceramic cover material.

The Galaxy S25+ delivers a premium experience with a 6.7” display with the same 120 Hz refresh rate, making it perfect for media and gaming. The camera, with a 50 MP wide-angle, 12 MP ultrawide and 10 MP telephoto lenses, allows users to capture detailed images with enhanced zoom capabilities of up to 30x.

The Galaxy S25 has a 6.2” display featuring a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and vibrant visuals. The camera includes a 50 MP wide-angle camera paired with AI-driven features, providing stunning shots even in low-light conditions.
