How to switch step by step
Switch from iphone via wi-fi
Switch from Android with a USB Cable
Step 1
Make sure you have Smart Switch on both devices. You will find it at Settings > Cloud and accounts > Smart Switch or at Settings > Accounts and back up > Smart Switch. On older ones, you may need to download it from the Play Store

Step 2
Simply connect the two phones together using the USB-C connector that came in the box with your new phone then select ‘Backup’ in the Smart Switch program interface, and then ‘Allow’ on your phone to start the transfer process.
Step 3
Open Smart Switch on your new device and tap ‘Start’, then follow the onscreen instructions.
You will have the option to choose which data you wish to transfer. While it is transferring, you will see a percentage on the screen letting you know how far through it is. The time taken will depend on the amount of data and the strength of your connection.
Switch from Android using a PC
Step 1
Download Smart Switch onto your PC or iOS, then install and open it.

Step 2
Connect your old device to your PC or iOS, then select ‘Backup’ in the Smart Switch program interface, and then ‘Allow’ on your phone to start the transfer process. Once the backup is complete, select 'OK' and disconnect the phone.
Step 3
Connect your new device to your PC or iOS, then select ‘Restore’ in the Smart Switch program interface, then ‘Select a different backup’, and finally ‘Samsung device data’.
Step 4
Connect your old device to your PC or iOS, then select ‘Backup’ in the Smart Switch program interface, and then ‘Allow’ on your phone to start the transfer process. Once the backup is complete, select 'OK' and disconnect the phone.

Switch from iPhone with a USB cableSTEP 1
Turn off two-step verification (if applicable) on your Apple ID before beginning the process. Open Smart Switch on your new Samsung device.
On newer Samsung devices, you will find Smart Switch at Settings > Cloud and accounts > Smart Switch. On older ones, you may need to download it from the Play Store
STEP 2
Connect your Samsung phone to your iPhone by using the USB-C connector and your Lightning cable.
STEP 3
Press 'Next' on your Samsung phone and follow the prompts.
STEP 4
Your new device will search and connect to your previous one. You will be the given the option to choose which information you want to transfer. Once you have selected the content to transfer, press ‘Transfer’. -
Switch from Android via Wi-FiSTEP 1
Make sure you have Smart Switch on both devices. On newer devices, you will find it at Settings > Cloud and accounts > Smart Switch. On older ones, you may need to download it from the Play Store
STEP 2
Connect your devices. Make sure your devices are close together and that you have a stable internet connection.
STEP 3
Open Smart Switch on your new device and tap Start , then follow the onscreen instructions.

Switch from iPhone using a PCSTEP 1
Open iTunes on your PC - you can download it here
Then connect your iPhone using the Lightning cable. You may need to select 'Continue' then 'Trust' to allow your computer access.
STEP 2
Select the name of your iPhone in iTunes, then go to Summary > Encrypt iPhone Backup > This computer > Back up now. Once backed up, remove your iPhone by selecting the iTunes eject icon and then pulling out the Lightning cable.
STEP 3
Download Smart Switch onto your PC, then open and install it.
STEP 4
Connect your new device to your PC, then select ‘Restore’ in the Smart Switch program interface.
STEP 5
If you have no previous backups, select 'Restore Now'. Select 'Select a Different Backup', then select 'iTunes Backup Data' from the top left of the Smart Switch interface.
STEP 6
Deselect any information you don't want to copy, then select 'OK' then 'Restore now' and 'Allow'. Your data will now begin transferring.
