Why does refrigerator smell so awful?
Cover the food properly especially meat or fish before storing inside the refrigerator. Keep the Non-Veg in freezer compartment.
Make sure that strong smelling food like fish is wrapped, so that it is airtight.
It is essential to clean the refrigerator, so first of all, unplug the power.
Smell from the food smell can permeate the machine if used for an extended time. In this case, we recommend that you empty the refrigerator and ventilate the machine for 8-10 hours.
Take the food out and then clean the inside using lukewarm water and a soft cloth twice a month.
Take out all shelves, bins, drain tray and any other removable parts and clean them properly.
Clean out the freezer periodically and throw away any spoiled food.
Note: Do not use the refrigerator for at least 2hrs, if it is newly installed as it may produce a smell, and it is not a fault.
If there's any water in your drain tray, then you will need to empty it down the sink or a drain.
So, if you have a direct cool refrigerator, then hold the drain tray from both ends.
Lift up the Drain tray by holding it from both sides and pull it.
The water filter may also become a problem sometimes, so check it and change it whenever required. The water filter is located between the vegetable crisper drawers.
Before changing the water filter, turn off the water supply valve and unplug the refrigerator.
Remove the filter by turning it clockwise and then insert the new water filter into the water filter case and turn it clockwise.
Note: Replace the water filter every 6 months.
Smelly substances in use near a freezer might have been absorbed into the ice cubes. So if the ice tastes odd, then discard the ice cubes completely, and clean the tray and then prepare a fresh batch of ice cubes.
