How to upload pictures and videos to a Family Hub refrigerator

If you’d like to display your own photos and videos on your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator, you can upload them directly to your fridge using the SmartThings app on your phone. Once a photo or video is uploaded, you can use it to decorate your fridge’s screen.

Note: Make sure your phone and Family Hub refrigerator are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and logged into the same Samsung Account.

Photos and videos stored on your phone can be uploaded to your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator using the steps below:

1 Navigate to and open the SmartThings app on your phone, and then tap the Devices tab.
2 Navigate to the location with your Family Hub refrigerator and select its card.

3 Tap Upload pictures and videos.

4 Tap Picture or Video, depending on what you would like to upload.

Note: If prompted, select your desired photo service, and allow the necessary permissions.

5 Select your desired picture or video, and then tap Upload.
6 A notification will appear on your Family Hub once the upload is complete. Swipe down from the top of the Family Hub’s screen and select the notification. Your photo or video will open.

7 Tap the screen to use options such as Rotate, Add to Home, Details, Delete, or Open video player.

Note: Depending on the model, you can access these features using the side navigation panel or the More option at the top of the screen.

8 To view your uploaded photos or videos on the Family Hub later on, navigate to Apps, then tap Gallery, and then tap Pictures in the upper left. All media items uploaded through the SmartThings app will appear in this folder.

Photos that have been uploaded to your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator can be added to the Home screen or used as a wallpaper.

1 From the Family Hub Home screen, touch and hold an empty space, and then tap Pictures.

2 Select your desired photo, and then tap Next.

3 Select a frame if desired, and then tap Add.

Note: You can tap the switch next to Play as Slideshow to create a slideshow.

4 Your photo will appear on the Home screen. To move the photo, touch and hold it, and then drag it around the screen.

5 You can also use your photos as wallpapers. Touch and hold an empty space on the Home screen, and then tap Wallpapers.

6 Tap Home screen, and then tap Picture.

7 Tap the Gallery thumbnail and then select a photo. Tap Next.

8 Crop and adjust your photo as desired, and then tap DONE.

9 Tap Apply to apply your new wallpaper.

Videos that have been uploaded to your Samsung Family Hub refrigerator can be added to the Home screen.

1 Navigate to and open the Gallery app, and then tap Albums at the top of the screen.

2 Tap the Downloads folder.

3 Select your desired video, and then tap Add to Home.
