What is the method of connecting Samsung Galaxy Gear to Samsung Note3?

You can connect your mobile device to the Samsung Galaxy Gear by using NFC or manually connect using the Gear Manager application.

NOTE : Both devices must be active — they cannot be in the lock screen or screen off modes. When the devices screens are locked or off, the NFC communication is turned off as part of the devices' security features. 

The Galaxy Gear and smartphone are paired using Bluetooth technology.

IMPORTANT : The Galaxy Gear must be paired from within the Gear Manger application. If it is paired manually from within the Bluetooth settings menu, the device will not correctly appear in the application listing.
