What is DTS?

DTS (Digital Theater Systems) is a type of surround sound technology similar to Dolby Digital. Both formats allow filmmakers to create immersive audio experiences by recording multiple channels of sound that can be played back in theaters and home theater systems. DTS compresses audio to about one-third the size of Dolby Digital, making it ideal for 5.1 channel audio outputs.

Note:

  • DTS support is limited to devices released prior to 2018.
  • Refer to your product manual for specific details on compatibility and features.

Connecting DTS Devices:

Step 1. Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on your external device to the HDMI IN port on the soundbar.

Step 2. Use a digital optical audio cable to connect the DTS port on the soundbar to the corresponding port on your TV.

Step 3. Press the Source button on the soundbar or remote control, selecting either HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 depending on your setup.

Step 4. Once connected, the source will appear on the soundbar display panel, and audio playback will begin automatically.

Configuring DTS on a Blu-ray Disc Player or Other Device:

1. Access the audio output settings on your device.

2. Choose "No Encoding" for Bitstream. In Samsung players, navigate to Home Menu > Sound > Digital Output and choose Bitstream (unprocessed).

3. If available, disable Secondary Audio in the audio output settings.

4. Ensure that the content you're playing supports Dolby Atmos for optimal performance.

Note: Ensure to follow the connection order. (Source device - Soundbar - TV)
