Samsung Electronics America Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a voluntary recall for certain models of slide-in electric ranges with front-mounted knobs. Samsung Electronics Latin America (Zona Libre), SA, the entity in charge of the Puerto Rico market, pursuant to the Law, informs the consumer that this voluntary recall also applies to Puerto Rico. The remedy for this recall is the provision, free of charge to the consumer, of a set of locks or knob covers for specific models sold in the United States and Puerto Rico between 2013 and 2024.
This announcement addresses the possible activation of the stove knobs through accidental contact by people or pets, which poses a risk of fire if flammable objects are left on the stove top.

Samsung is offering slide-in electric range customers a free set of locks or knob covers, depending on the model, to prevent accidental activation. Customers can continue to use their slide-in electric ranges while they wait for their free set of locks or knob covers.
Samsung also recommends consumers follow these range safety precautions, regardless of range type or manufacturer:
- While not actively cooking, never place, leave or store anything on the stove top.
- Keep children and pets away from stove knobs.
- Be sure to check your stove knobs to make sure they are off after cooking.
