How to use HDMI ARC on Samsung Smart TV
HDMI is a common connector for sound and video. ARC (Audio Return Channel) is a special function of HDMI high-speed certified cables via which the sound can also be sent back to the transmitter. You can use it to connect your Samsung tv to the external sound bars or audio speakers that are compatible with your device.
How to connect an HDMI ARC cable to your Samsung TV?
Make sure that you are using an HDMI cable 1.4 or higher to connect your TV with an ARC-enabled speaker. The HDMI-ARC functionality is only available through the specific port on the TV or One Connect Box, and the external speakers need to be compatible.
You may also need to adjust the settings of the external speakers to turn on HDMI ARC controls.
To connect your Smart TV to your device with an HDMI ARC cable, follow the steps below:
Step 1. Prepare an HDMI ARC cable that is compatible with your devices.
Step 2. Connect the cable to the TV's HDMI IN (ARC).
Step 3. Connect to the HDMI OUT (TV-ARC) port of the speaker that you want to connect.
Step 4. Turn the Speakers on that are connected to the TV.
Step 5. The TV sound will be played through your external speakers.
Note:
- · If using an unauthorized cable, an error may occur.
- · The HDMI port will be labeled ARC on the back of the TV or One Connect Box.
