Check out the information codes on my washing machine
If the washing machine fails to operate, you may see an information code on the screen. Check the codes and instructions below and try the suggestions that are given. If any code keeps appearing on the screen, contact a local Samsung service center for further support.
What is an information code?
The washing machine displays the information codes which can help to understand what is occurring with your machine. Therefore, if the washing machine fails to operate, check the control panel first. In most cases, it is not a mechanical problem.
Frequently displayed information codes
4C, 4E, E1

Water is not supplied. -Make sure the water taps are open. -Make sure the water hoses are not clogged. -Make sure the water taps are not frozen. -Make sure the washing machine is operating with sufficient water pressure. -Make sure that the cold water tap and the hot water tap are properly connected. -Clean the mesh filter as it may be clogged. -All buttons will be disabled for 3 minutes after the information codes appears. |

Water is not draining. -Make sure the drain hose is not frozen or clogged. -Make sure the drain hose is positioned correctly, depending on the connection type. -Clean the debris filter as it may be clogged. -Make sure the drain hose is straightened all the way to the drain system. -If the information code remains, contact a customer service center. |
dC, dE |
Operating the washing machine with the door open. -Make sure the door is properly closed. -Make sure laundry is not caught in the door. |
OC, OE, OF |
Water has overflowed. -Restart after spinning. -If the information code remains on the display, contact a local Samsung service center. |
Ub, UE |
-Make sure laundry is spread out evenly. -Make sure the washing machine is on a flat, stable surface. -Redistribute the load. -If only one item or clothing needs washing, check message will be shown in the display. |

Additional information codes
Make sure the cold water supply hose is firmly connected to the cold water tap. If it is connected to the hot water tap, the laundry may be deformed with some cycles.
Solutions
- Make sure the cold water supply hose is firmly connected to the cold water tap.
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

Display for additional rinsing.
Solutions
- Show additional rinsing code means sensing is unbalance. Unbalance issue can trigger additional rinsing code.
- Releasing the display by input any key.

The main door lock/unlock is not working properly.
Solutions
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

The Add Door lock/unlock is not working properly.
Solutions
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

Check the drain hose.
Solutions
- Make sure the end of the drain hose is not placed on the floor.
- Make sure the drain hose is not clogged.
Note:

Check the drum motor for operation.
Solutions
- Try restarting the cycle.
Note:

Check the pulsator motor for operation.
Solutions
- Try restarting the cycle.
Note:

The MEMS sensor is not working properly. The MEMS sensor is basically a vibration sensor to control board that the machine is experiencing and out-of balance condition.
Solutions
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
Note:
- It may have a different code depending on the model.
- If any code keeps appearing on the screen, contact a Samsung service center for further support.
This code can be displayed when the machine has had interrupted power or an irregular of the electrical current was supplied to the machine. (Low voltage has detected or the electronic control needs to be checked.)
Solutions
- Check if power is supplied properly.
- Check if the power code is plugged in.
Note:

Check the high temperature heating system.
Solutions
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

The water level sensor is not working properly.
Solutions
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

Check communications between the main and the inverter PBAs.
Solutions
- Depending on the state, the machine may automatically return to normal operation.
- Turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.
- Check that the add wash door is closed properly, then turn the machine off, and restart the cycle.

PC, PE
When position of the clutch can't be detected.
PC1, PE1
After position of the clutch is detected, if the signal of the clutch hall goes wrong.
Solutions
- Contact a customer service center.
