How to clean a dishwasher filter
Manual-clean filters should be cleaned at least once a month. Even if the inside of the dishwasher looks clean after washing the dishes, there are still food particles and grease in the filter. Please be careful not to injure yourself and damage the filters during the cleaning process.
Check the dishwasher inside
To maintain your dishwasher performance, the nozzle and filter need to be cleaned periodically. Check the position of the spray arm and filter inside.
- Duct nozzle (Spray arm)
- Lower nozzle
- Filter assembly
If food or debris gets stuck in the spray armhole or filters, the cleaning performance may not be as good. Therefore, clean the spray arms and filters periodically.
Note: Before the process, disconnect the power supply.
Let’s start with the Duct nozzle removal.
- Open the door and take out the upper rack.
- To remove the spray arm, rotate the Duct nozzle (nut) counterclockwise to unlock the spray arm.
- Next, gently take out the spray arm. Take out the lower rack.
- To remove the lower spray arm, pull out the spray arm in an upward direction.
- Wash the spray arms in soapy, running water. If necessary, use a soft brush to clean the jets. Be careful not to damage the parts when removing them.
- The filtering system is located within easy reach inside the tub. The filter assembly can be separated without removing the lower nozzle. Therefore, you can clean the filter assembly simply and efficiently.
For best performance and results, the filter assembly should be cleaned regularly. There are three components of the filtering system.
- Main filter
- Coarse filter
- Fine filter
- To remove the filter assembly, turn it in an anti-clockwise direction.
- Lift the filter assembly up (Main + Coarse filter). Lift the inside Fine filter.
- Rinse the filters. To clean the Main filter and the Coarse filter, gently turn the top of the filters to remove the parts.
- Use a soft brush to clean the Coarse filter and the Fine filter.
Note:
- Be careful not to damage the filters.
- After cleaning, reinsert the Fine filter first.
- Put the Main filter and Coarse filter together again.
- Place the Main filter + Coarse filter in place and turn them clockwise.
- Put the lower spray arm back into its original location and rotate anti-clockwise to lock the spray arm back in place.
- Put the lower rack back inside.
- Relocate the middle spray arm on the nozzle and turn the nut clockwise to lock the spray arm.
- Put the upper rack back inside.
Note:
- Please note that you should never run the dishwasher without the filters in place.
