Defects of unauthorised third-party protective films on Galaxy devices
When a person places a protective film or tempered glass on their Galaxy device, they have certain expectations for the accessory’s performance. However, if the individual opted to apply a non-authorised third-party protective film, the device user could find that what they presumed to be a protective measure might not perform as intended.
Potential defects in unauthorised third-party protective films
Applying an unauthorised protective film to a Galaxy device could potentially lead to a number of undesirable issues:
- Decreased rates for touch screen response and fingerprint recognition
- Reduced display visibility caused by stains and discolouration
- Diminished photo quality if the camera lens is covered
- Uneven surface (example: lifting at the edges and bubbles in the middle)
- Difficult to attach or remove
- Incorrect size
- Decreased durability
Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership Program
The Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership Programme, otherwise known as SMAPP, is a design and quality certification programme conducted by Samsung Electronics as a way to collaborate with partners in the production of authorised third-party accessories.
Partner products that have been certified through Samsung Electronics' quality verification system are given the Designed For Samsung logo, which is printed on the product exterior or packaging box.
To ensure safe use of the product, use genuine accessories or accessories certified by Samsung Electronics.
