How to pair and switch devices connected to Galaxy Buds+
Comfortably pair the Galaxy Buds+ to various types of devices such as smartphones, tablets or watches.
Check out how to pair your Galaxy Buds+ to Samsung and non-Samsung mobile devices for the first time and using your Samsung account as well as switch paired devices amongst two separate devices or using the media and devices panel explained in detail below.
Pairing Galaxy Buds+ to mobile devices
If you have the Galaxy Wearable app installed on your mobile device and the Bluetooth function is enabled, it is very easy to pair your Galaxy Buds+ to your mobile device for the first time. View the three options outlined below to pair your Buds+ to your various types mobile devices you have.
Simply open the Galaxy Buds+ charging case and wait a few minutes and you will receive a pop-up notice on your mobile device.
Tap Connect from the pop-up window and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.
Pairing to an Android OS device
Step 1. On your mobile device, launch Galaxy Store or Play Store and download the Galaxy Wearable app.
- Download the Galaxy Wearable app only on mobile devices running Android operating system 5.0 (API 21), or later, and with 1.5 GB of RAM or more.
- You can change the language of the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected mobile device. On your mobile device, launch Settings > General management > Language and input > Language. English may appear by default if the selected language on the Settings screen is not supported on the Galaxy Wearable app.
Step 2. Check the direction of each earbud and correctly insert them into their corresponding slots in the charging case.
Step 3. Close the charging case.
Step 4. Open the charging case. The earbuds will enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically.
Step 5. On your mobile device, activate the Bluetooth feature to connect the earbuds to your mobile device, launch the Galaxy Wearable app, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
Pairing to an iOS device
Step 1. Download the Galaxy Buds+ app from App Store.
- App can be downloaded on iPhone 7 or later with iOS 10 and higher version.
Step 2. On your iPhone device, go to Bluetooth settings > select OTHER DEVICES and choose Galaxy Buds+ from the list.
Step 3. Close the charging case.
Step 4. Open the charging case. The earbuds will enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically.
Step 5. On your mobile device, once you pair your earbuds, launch the Galaxy Wearable app, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
Note: This method is unavailable for Galaxy Bud(R170).
Galaxy Buds+ has a quick Bluetooth connection switching feature that allows you to easily connect additional Samsung handsets. By using this feature you can easily switch Bluetooth connection between multiple devices that have signed into the same Samsung account because the pairing information of the earbuds will be synced to other devices that are using the same Samsung account. No need to pair each device individually.
To connect other mobile devices that use the same Samsung account with the Galaxy Buds+, on the mobile devices that you want to connect, follow the steps below.
Step 1. Open the notification panel and tap Media, or tap Settings.
Step 2. Tap Connections and tap Bluetooth.
Step 3. Select the earbuds synced through the Samsung account.
If the earbuds do not connect to the mobile device, the connection pop-up window does not appear, or your mobile device can't find the earbuds, tap and hold both of the touchpads of the earbuds' while wearing them to enter manual Bluetooth pairing mode. Once you have entered the Bluetooth pairing mode, you will hear a sound. Please take note that you will not be able to use this method if you are playing music and you have set the volume adjustment as a preset tap-and-hold feature.
Switching the connection of Galaxy Buds+
After you have completed pairing the Buds+ to your mobile devices, you can also seamlessly switch the connection amongst multiple devices. When a connection is requested from another device, without performing a manual disconnection from the current device in advance, the switch is easy. When switching between devices, you won't have to worry about manually disconnecting and pairing. Check out the options outlined below to switch your Buds+ connected to various mobile devices.
On the mobile device that you want to switch connection, tap Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and then select the earbuds under Paired devices.

If you have multiple Bluetooth audio devices connected to your mobile device, you can use the Media or Devices panel on Android 10 phones to switch connections between the different devices. View the steps outlined below.
Media panel
Step 1. Swipe down from the top screen of your mobile device.
Step 2. Tap on Media, and then you will be able to view the devices connected to the audio output.
Step 3. Tap on the Galaxy Buds+ to connect the audio output to your earbuds.
Devices panel
Step 1. To switch using Devices panel, start by the same process of swiping down from the top screen of your mobile device.
Step 2. Tap on Devices, and then you will view the devices directly connected to your mobile device.
Step 3. Tap on Galaxy Buds+, it will lead to a screen where you can turn off the connection or unpair from your mobile device.
