Smart Phone : How do I locate my phone's IMEI number?

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit serial number given to every mobile phone which can then be used to check information such as the phone's Country of Origin, the Manufacturer and it's Model Number.

 

There are different ways to locate the IMEI number, as listed below:

For devices on Android 9.0 (Pie) follow the steps below:

 

- Open Settings on your device

- Scroll to the bottom of the page and Select About phone

You will find the IMEI located at the top of the page.

 

For devices on Android 4.4 (Kitkat)

- Open Settings on your device

- Select the General tab

- Scroll down and select About phone

- Tap on Status

- Scroll down and you will find the IMEI number of the phone.

You are able to check the IMEI number of your device by making a simple phone call.

- Open the Phone application on your device

- Dial *#06# 

A pop up will automatically show up on your screen showing you the IMEI number for your device. 

You are able to find the IMEI of your device on the physical device itself. This can be located in a different section depending on the model device you have.



For Mobiles with a sealed back:

- Make sure any case's have been removed from the device

- Turn the phone over so it is screen side down

- The Model Code, Serial Number and IMEI are printed at on the back of the device at the bottom.

 

 

For mobileswith a removeable back:

- Make sure any case's have been removed from the device

- Remove the back cover of the device and take the battery out

- The Model Code, Serial Number and IMEI are printed on a sticker on the bottom portion of the device.
