Use Samsung Health sleep monitoring on your Samsung Galaxy Watch and Fit

With the Samsung Health app and Sleep tile on your Samsung Galaxy Watch or Fit, you can view your sleeping time, record your snoring, and use sleep coaching options to help you get a better night’s sleep.

Note: Make sure your Galaxy Watch or Fit is connected to your phone first.

Set up sleep monitoring

Step 1. Open the Samsung Health app on your Galaxy Watch or Fit > Swipe up and tap Settings.

Step 2. Swipe up and select Sleep.

Step 3. Tap Snore detection.

Step 4. Samsung Health will open on your connected phone > Tap the switch at the top to turn on “Snore detection”.

Monitor your sleep

At night: Attach your Galaxy Watch or Fit to your wrist > Connect your phone to its charger > Place your phone near your head.

* Snoring measurement and recording are done on your phone.
* The best place for your phone would be on a stable surface, like a nightstand.
* Try to point the bottom of the phone toward you.
*Make sure your watch’s sensor is clean and directly touching your skin.

In the morning: From your Galaxy Watch’s or Fit’s Home screen, swipe left to the Sleep tile > Tap the Sleep tile.

You can view the following data:

Sleep time: Shows your sleep time in hours and minutes.

Sleep score: Rates your sleep quality on a scale of Excellent, Good, Fair, and Needs attention.

Sleep stages: Shows a graph and a list of the different stages of sleep and how long you spent in each stage.

Blood oxygen during sleep: Shows your blood oxygen percentage.

Snore detection: Shows the amount of time you spent snoring.

Sleep skin temperature: Shows your body’s skin temperature from your previous night’s sleep.

Sleep consistency: Shows the number of days in the current week that you have achieved your sleep goals.

Discover your sleep animal: Based on your survey results and sleep pattern data, you will be assigned an animal symbol and a sleep coaching programme tailored to your sleep needs.

* You may need to enter data or target goals in order for some data categories to appear.

You can monitor snoring while you sleep with the Samsung Health app. To use this feature, make sure your Galaxy Watch or Fit is connected to your phone via the Galaxy Wearable app.

Set up “Snore detection”

Step 1. On your connected phone, open the Samsung Health app > Tap the Sleep card.

Step 2. Tap More options (three vertical dots) > Select Advanced measurement > Tap Snore detection.

Step 3. Tap the switch at the top of the screen to turn on Snore detection.

* Allow the necessary permissions when prompted.

Step 4. You can set when to detect snoring, record when snoring is detected, how long to store recordings, and more.

* When you go to bed, attach your Galaxy Watch or Fit to your wrist > Connect your phone to its charger > Place your phone near your head.

Note: The best place for your phone would be on a stable surface, like a nightstand. Also, try to point the bottom of the phone toward you.

Check snoring data in the morning

Step 1. Open the Samsung Health app on your phone > Tap the Sleep card.

Step 2. Tap the Snoring card > Review the previous night’s snoring data.

Samsung Health will monitor and analyse your sleep patterns using data recorded from your Galaxy Watch or Fit and create a four-to-five-week coaching programme for you.

* You will need to wear your Galaxy Watch or Fit for at least 7 nights before you can use the “Sleep coaching” feature.
* The “Sleep coaching” settings can only be adjusted from your phone.

Set up/Restart “Sleep coaching”

Step 1. Open Samsung Health on your connected phone > Tap the Sleep coaching card > Tap Next.

Step 2. Answer the survey questions > Tap Done.

* This step will be skipped if you take the survey before completing 7 nights of tracked sleep.

Step 3. Review your sleep data report > Tap Next.

Step 4. Tap Start coaching.
* If a popup window appears, select Settings > Tap Allow notifications > Tap the Navigate up icon.

Step 5. Tap Next > Follow the onscreen instructions to begin your “Sleep coaching” programme.

Step 1. Open Samsung Health on the connected phone > Tap the Sleep card.

Step 2. Tap More options (the three vertical dots) > Select Sleep coaching.

Step 3. Tap Take a look under “Track your sleep habits” > Tap More options (the three vertical dots) > Tap Quit coaching.

Step 4. Tap Quit coaching on the confirmation dialog.

* If you quit “Sleep coaching” and then start it again, you will begin at day 1 of coaching.
