What to do when Samsung Galaxy earbuds do not turn on or charge
If one of both of your Galaxy earbuds are not charging or turning on, the issue may be with the earbuds themselves or the charging case. Using a charger that is not approved by Samsung may cause charging malfunctions. It is also possible that the earbuds may be damaged. You can try fully charging the case, checking the earbuds for damage, or restarting the earbuds.
Check your device
- Charge the Buds for at least 10 minutes before using them for the first time.
- Be sure to use the included USB cable and a Samsung approved charger. If your device supports wireless charging, the Buds are compatible with select Samsung QI-compatible wireless charging pads or phones using Wireless power sharing.
- Check the charging state. A flashing red light indicates that the device is not charging correctly.
Step 1. Inspect the earbuds and charging case for damage
- Inspect for any cracked, broken, bent, or loose parts
- If you notice any damage, cracks, or other issues, it means that your device has suffered from an external impact. This could impair the Buds and their functions.
- The earbuds do not support water-resistant function.
Step 2. Restart the connected device
- Restart your Samsung Galaxy device by pressing and holding the power button and the volume down button simultaneously.
Step 3. Restart the earbuds
- Insert the earbud(s) into the corresponding slots in the charging case, close the lid, and then remove the earbuds(s) after 10 seconds or longer.
* The steps for restarting your earbuds vary depending on the earbuds model.
Note: If the earbuds are charged and you continue to experience issues with them after troubleshooting, please contact a Samsung service centre.
