[2022] Guide to using SmartThings on your Samsung TV

Last Update date : Apr 22. 2022

SmartThings lets you easily personalize the experiences your TV and smart home devices offer and Samsung is partnering across the industry to ensure these devices work seamlessly together so you can do more. Thousands of devices, from hundreds of Smart Home brands, already work with SmartThings and your Samsung TV. You can find a list of compatible devices [HERE] or by browsing the ‘+’ and ‘Add device’ section within the Mobile SmartThings app.

SmartThings can detect and connect with devices around your TV using the built-in hub feature and lets you simply control devices using a unique Map view UI or from a List View. Or, if the TV is off, you can still control all your devices in SmartThings through Bixby’s Always On Voice feature.

Set notifications and use a Doorbell on your TV

The SmartThings app on your TV or Smart Monitor provides a notification setting function, as well as a 2-way doorbell talk function. From the SmartThings settings, users can choose which devices they want to receive notifications from, so that it won’t interfere with their viewing experience. With a Smart Doorbell, users can check the camera from their TV and see who is at the front door. You can even talk to them without pausing your TV.
