What does Bit Error Code mean?

Bit-Error refers to the amount of interference and interruptions in reception, you can use this figure together with the Signal Strength to understand how good your reception can be. Bit Error Rate should be low and Signal Strength should be high for a good picture.

The causes of the corruption are several, like a very strong signal being one of them, corrupt data due to low signal level and/or due to interface corruption of the signal, noise in the signal from bad weather or lightning, cross-modulation of the signal from high trees, hills or buildings obstructing the aerial. These figures are generally to do with your location and the positioning and type of aerial.

You can find this information located at:    Menu –> Support-> Self Diagnosis –> Signal Information

If you have found that your Signal Strength has dropped low check the below. If the problem is not able to be resolved with the below steps please call Samsung Customer Care on 0800 726 786 or Live Chat with our Technical Team.

1 Unplug and reconnect the coaxial connections between your Set-Top Box and your TV and your wall connection.

This is also a good time to inspect the coaxial cable for any obvious damage which could cause a loss in your signal strength

2 Check with your aerial installer if there are any under going works in your area or to check if your antenna position is correct.
3 Check the weather as this will affect signal quality
