How to manage Samsung Wallet if your phone is missing
Samsung Wallet has advanced, sophisticated security features designed to give you peace of mind every time you use the app. In the event that you lose or misplace your phone, rest assured that there are simple steps you can take to protect your information and keep everything secure.
If you lose or misplace your phone, you can use Samsung's SmartThings Find service and other security features to remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Wallet.
If you are unable to lock Samsung Wallet, contact the card issuer immediately by calling the number on the back of your physical card. When you lock your phone through SmartThings find, Samsung Wallet will be automatically locked too. Samsung Wallet will request the card issuer to suspend any transactions made on your phone until you find it and re-verify your identity.
Notes:
- SmartThings Find can only be used if the device you are trying to locate is registered to your Samsung account and an Internet connection is available (if the Offline Find function is disabled). The feature does not work if the ‘Allow this mobile phone to be found’ setting on the device is turned off.
- Resetting your devices will completely wipe its data, including your Samsung Wallet information. Make sure you tap the “Back up” option in SmartThings Find or take other back up measures before resetting your phone.
- If the phone is reset, you will need to sign into your Samsung account on the phone to restore data from the backup. If a Google account is registered on the phone, you will need to sign into the Google account on the phone before you can use the phone again.
