Checkpoints when Samsung Refrigerator does not cool or overcools
If your refrigerator is not cooling, there are several things you can do. Most cooling concerns can be resolved by adjusting refrigerator settings, proper use and care, inspecting and cleaning the door seals, or resetting the refrigerator.
If your refrigerator is not cooling, there are a few easy things to check.
Make sure that the plug works
Try to plug in another device to see if the plug works and check if the circuit breaker is not tripped.
Check the door
Check to make sure that the door is closed properly. Not doing so will cause cold air to leak out.
Check the temperature settings
Make sure that the refrigerator temperature is low and that the refrigerator is not located somewhere that's very warm, such as a spot with direct sunlight.
Keep it comfortable
Your refrigerator needs room to breathe. Try to leave at least 2 inches of clearance at the back, top, and sides of the refrigerator. To help with air circulation, make sure your refrigerator vents are not blocked by food, and keep the fridge at least two-thirds full.
Check for Cooling Off or Demo Mode
If it is Demo Mode, the display will read OF-OF or "OFF", which will disable the compressor to save electricity. To deactivate Demo mode, you'll need to press the correct arrangement of buttons. You can check your user manual for the exact combination.
