The Daily Board on your Samsung Smart TV lets you use voice commands to check useful information like the weather and status of your connected smart devices when the TV’s screen is turned off. Your TV will detect the presence of users when the screen is off, and then display the Daily Board. You can also use the Daily Board to play music, write memos, use the camera, and apply beautiful wallpapers.

Note: The Daily Board and certain features may not be supported depending on the model or region.

The following requirements must be met to use the Daily Board:

  • A 2024 or newer Samsung Smart TV that supports voice wake-up (models Q70 and later). Depending on the product’s characteristics, some models may not support user detection and may only support the Daily Board when voice commands are used.
  • The TV must be logged into a Samsung Account.
  • Some features are only available if the TV is registered with the SmartThings app.

Enable User Detection

Notes:

  • The User Detection feature will be supported on Samsung 8K TVs (QN900D/QN800D) starting August 2024. For 4K TVs (QN9*D/QN8*D/Q80D/Q70D), support will begin in Q4 2024. However, OLED TVs (S9*D/S85D) will not be supported.
  • The User Detection menu is only visible on models that support User Detection.
  • User Detection may not work in quiet environments. You can configure the User Detection sensitivity by selecting Edit in the bottom right of the Daily Board screen, and then selecting Settings.

When setting up your Samsung Smart TV during the initial setup process, you’ll be prompted to enable the Daily Board with User Detection. Select Enable Now to activate it. Once your TV is set up, you’ll be able to use the Daily Board.

When the screen is turned off, this feature can be utilized by detecting the presence of users in the vicinity.

You can issue voice commands when you need to view or navigate the Daily Board when the screen is turned off. To use this feature, you will need to set up wake-up options.
