Whether you’re familiar with content creation or brand new to it all, in Session 3: Content creation you’ll find the top tips from Baiteze FC to help you create content that kicks.

1. Storytelling

One of the most important parts of creating content is storytelling. How does each piece of content you put out, whether a photo, video or gif, tell a story or build towards part of a larger narrative? A classic structure for grassroots football is: Set up, Conflict, Resolve.

Set up - Set up the story. Who are you playing? What’s your history? Bitter Rivals? Someone who you lost/won against last game?

Conflict - Build the tension. Convey the emotion. What does this match mean?

Resolve - Bring it all round. Close the story with the result or a cliffhanger...

2. Getting smart with your content

Creating short form, low-cost content in vertical format will allow you to cross-publish across TikTok and Instagram saving time and resources. This lets you experiment and establish an audience before graduating to longer form, more expensive YouTube content.

3. Data & Analytics

  • Test and learn. Test and learn. It’s important to understand what works and what doesn’t.
 
  • Do you have a few stand-out characters that attract viewers?
 
  • Are goals more important for your club than chants or banter?
 
  • Are your titles and captions working for you?

4. Consistency

There is one simple rule that trumps them all when it comes to content creation and that is...consistency. Think about what content you’d all love to see and how possible it is for you to create it. Weekly highlights from your games? Or focus on character leading challenge videos?

Don’t be afraid to take inspiration from others while adding your own flavour - social media is all about trends, doing what others are doing actually gets you rewarded.

5. Batch Content

The best approach to success is to get into the habit of creating batched content. Your content ideas (excluding your weekly games) should be evergreen – so they can be posted all year round.

TIP: If you plan your content properly your videos become easier to produce.

6. Publishing

Build a series of content you know you can produce each week and then keep posting the same for two months. Gauge what works, what doesn’t and what needs to change.

It’s hard to see the success of your content until you’ve been consistent for a while - don’t be disheartened if initial results aren’t good. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Remember all social platform algorithms reward consistency. So make a plan and stick to it.
