Samsung WEEE Recycling Services

Samsung is pleased to offer a range of accredited recycling and disposal services to help our customers dispose of unwanted electronics in a responsible and environmentally conscious way.

What can I recycle with Samsung?

All items of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and batteries bear this symbol and should be recycled or disposed of safely.

When you purchase a product from Samsung:

• You can recycle your similar old product free of charge by bringing it to the Samsung KX Store for recycling within 28 days of purchase (1 Stable St, London, N1C 4DQ). If your old device is less than 25cm in size, or is a portable battery, you can also recycle it at this location even if you have not made a purchase.

• For large products (such as TVs and Home Appliances), you also have the option of selecting Collection & Recycling at checkout and we will collect your similar old product for recycling when we deliver your new product.

• If you do not select Collection & Recycling at checkout, but within 28 days of purchase would still like us to collect your old large appliance for recycling, you can arrange this by completing the form on this link to book a collection. Please note, this service is subject to higher fees than if arranging collection at the same time as delivery

Orders from Samsung.com

Recycling smaller items

No packaging required. Simply bring in your small WEEE to our KX Store in London (1 Stable St, London N1C 4DQ) where a member of staff will assist you. Alternatively, find your nearest WEEE collection point at https://www.recycle-more.co.uk/.

Trade in for an instant discount

If you have an old phone, tablet, laptop or smartwatch that you no longer want, you might be able to trade it in for a discount on a brand new Galaxy device. Better for you, and the environment too.

Recycling larger items

We will collect your item at the same time we deliver your new Samsung product. Please ensure appliances are drained of water and/or defrosted, and that all contents have been removed. All items must also be disconnected from mains power, plumbing, and/or fixtures.

You also need to make sure the item being collected is accessible, so it can easily be removed from the property. Please note that once we have collected your item, we will be unable to return it.

Cost: £25 per item

Further recycling options

If you are not making a purchase from Samsung.com, or you do not wish to utilise a recycling service offered by Samsung, you can still recycle your old electrical and electronic items using your local civic amenity site. You can find your nearest WEEE recycling centre at Recycle Your Electricals or Recycle More

WEEE Regulations

The UK Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013 aim to reduce the environmental impact of electrical and electronic waste on the environment, as well as increase the frequency of it being reused, recovered or recycled, instead of ending up in landfill. Electrical equipment that ends up in landfill can lead to hazardous substances leaking out, causing soil and water contamination, which can harm both human health and wildlife.

Samsung has obligations as both a producer and distributor of electrical and electronic equipment. To manage our responsibilities as a producer, we work with a Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS) and finance the collection and treatment of WEEE, when it is disposed of by consumers at waste collection or civic amenity sites. As a distributor, Samsung offers takeback for all of our products as described above. All items received are recycled, reused, or disposed of safely in accordance with the legislation.
