How to use SmartThings Energy and PeakSave
PeakSave is a new scheme from British Gas to reward their customers for making small changes to their electricity consumption. Customers can now link their British Gas account to the Samsung SmartThings app. By linking your Samsung smart devices with PeakSave and SmartThings you can control your energy use and set targets, all through the comfort of your smartphone or tablet. Follow our guide on how to register for PeakSave and connect through SmartThings.
Please note: Only British Gas customers with a smart meter are eligible to take part in PeakSave. For more information about installing this service click here.
Step 1. Launch the SmartThings app
Step 2. Tap the Life icon
Step 3. Select Energy
Step 4. Tap the 3 dots menu option
Step 5. Select Link to partners
Step 6. Select British Gas
Step 7. Tap Link to British Gas
Step 8. Scroll down the page
Step 9. Tap Connect SmartThings
Step 10. Enter your British Gas account email address
Step 11. Enter your password and tap Log in to my account
Step 12. Scroll down the page
Step 13. Accept the British Gas terms and conditions
Step 14. Tap Join PeakSave
Step 15. Tap Done to finish registering
Step 16. Continue set up and tap Next
Step 17. Select Energy
Step 18. Tap Set
Step 19. Toggle Demand Response notifications on
