How to troubleshoot & resolve a Jet Vacuum power issue

If you are experiencing power issues with your Jet vacuum, there are a number of potential fixes you can try to get your vacuum functioning again. If you are unable to solve the issue, you can contact Samsung support for further assistance.

Check the battery indicator on your vacuum. If this has reached its lowest level and is blinking, then the vacuum will need charging.

Inspect the pipe, dust bin and brush for any debris or blockages. If there are blockages, manually clear these. Blockages can cause the vacuum to work harder and produce excessive heat. Jet vacuums are designed to cut out when they reach a certain temperature to prevent damage. By clearing any blockage, the vacuum should be able to regulate its temperature again. Clear the blockage and leave the vacuum for a minimum of 5 minutes (up to 30 minutes).

We also recommend cleaning the vacuum filter. For steps on how to do this, read our FAQ on what to do if your Jet vacuum doesn’t clean properly

This issue can sometimes occur when using the Extension Crevice Tool for prolonged periods of time or if the vacuum becomes too hot.

If the vacuum overheats then it will automatically stop to prevent heat damage. To attempt to fix this problem, check the pipe and brush for blockages and perform a clean of the filter.

For more information on how to do this, read our FAQ on what to do if your Jet vacuum doesn’t clean properly.

Check the charging contacts at the back of the vacuum and where the vacuum connects to the charging doc. Make sure there is no dust or debris that may affect the charging process. To clean the charging contact, wipe it down with a cotton swab or a soft cloth.

When connecting your vacuum or vacuum battery to the charging doc, ensure the vacuum or battery is fitted correctly and there is a secure connection. Also ensure that mains power is turned on. The battery level indicator will illuminate to indicate that charging is in progress. A poor fit may prevent charging from occurring.

Check that the vacuum's charger plug is pushed all the way into the socket.

Inspect the plug on the vacuum’s charger, looking out for damage to the pins or plug. If there is damage, then replace the plug if you feel comfortable, or seek professional assistance if necessary. It is also possible that there could be an issue with the fuse, if you feel confident doing this, then change the fuse or seek professional assistance
