1 Getting ready

First, have all the genuine parts and tools needed for the procedure ready.

*Use only demagnetised tools that are specifically designed for small electronic repairs, as most electronic parts are sensitive to electromagnetic forces.

Perform the repair in a ventilated area and watch out for burns and other injuries.

Have your data backed up safely and ensure the device is turned off.

Before beginning any repair, make sure your battery is fully discharged.

Starting off, make sure to remove the SIM tray using SIM ejection pin.

We’re all set! Shall we start disassembling?

2 Disassembly

Button (Volume key)

In the case of buttons, they can be removed without disassembling the product

You only need to remove them if you need to replace or clean the buttons

Lightly press one end of the button with your fingers so that the other end protrudes

*When holding the buttons with a round-tip metal tweezer , be very careful not to damage or scratch the device.

Push the tip of the protruding button up carefully with a round-tip metal tweezer and lift it up until you can grab it with your fingers

Grab the volume button with your fingers and pull it out carefully from the device

Screen

Place the Heating bag in the microwave and heat it properly following Heating bag's instruction

*Do not let the temperature of the Heating bag exceed 65˚C. It is recommended that you use a thermometer to properly measure and limit the temperature.

*Make sure the microwave turntable spins freely so that the Heating bag does not get stuck.

*When handling a heated Heating bag, always wear safety gloves and be careful of burns.

Never place a phone or tablet device directly into the microwave to heat it

To disassemble Screen, follow 3 steps on all 4 edges of the front of the device

*Sequence shortened. Actual steps may vary.

   Step. 1 Apply Heating bag on the left edge of the Screen

   Step. 2 Attach Suction cup to the heated edge

*Recommended safety equipment: safety glasses, ESD-safe gloves, mask.

   Step. 3 Use Opening pick to create a gap between Screen module and Metal frame 

*In order not to damage the product when removing screen, insert only the tip of Opening pick and never insert it all the way in.

*When dealing with broken glass, fully equip yourself with protective gear including safety glasses, ESD-safe gloves, and mask to prevent injuries.

The horizontal side of the screen can be more difficult to separate due to its length, so we recommend splitting the heating and separation into two areas

Repeat the 3 steps for the top, right, and bottom edges respectively

Gently lift to remove the Screen

As the Screen can be damaged by excessive force, be careful not to damage the Screen

Before removing the Screen, disassemble the Screen's 2 cable connectors with the tweezers first and separate the Screen completely

Remove all remaining adhesive tapes attached on the Screen

*When assembling, use a new adhesive tape.

Cameras

Check the 20 points where the Screws are located

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Remove all Screws on the Bracket using a Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

and remove Bracket using Round tip metal tweezers

Disconnect the battery connector with the Opening pick

Using tweezers, separate a coaxial cable (Light blue) from Main board

Check the 2 points where the Main Camera connectors are connected

Disconnect 2 Main camera connectors from the Main board using Opening pick

Place Heating bag in the microwave and heat it properly following the Heating bag's instruction

*Do not let the temperature of the Heating bag exceed 65˚C. It is recommended that you use a thermometer to properly measure and limit the temperature.

*Make sure the microwave turntable spins freely so that the Heating bag does not get stuck.

*When handling a heated Heating bag, always wear safety gloves and be careful of burns.

Apply Heating bag on the back side of the Main cameras for 3 minutes

and lift 2 Cameras away from assembly using ESD-safe tweezers

*Always use Samsung-authorised genuine parts. Third-party replacement parts may not function properly.

Check the point where the Front camera connector is connected

Disconnect Front camera connector from the Main board using Opening pick

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

and lift Front camera away from assembly using ESD-safe tweezers

Charging port

Check the 5 points where the Screws are located

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Remove all Screws using a Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

and separate the Lower Bracket from the device

Check the 3 points where the Screws are located

Remove all Screws using a Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

Check the point where the flexible cable connector is connected

Disconnect the connector from the Main board using Opening pick

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Using the tweezers, lift up the Charging port very slowly

*Always use Samsung-authorised genuine parts. Third-party replacement parts may not function properly.

In the 5G/LTE device, separate two coaxial cables (Grey, Red) on the back of the Charging port with tweezers and your fingers.

*These coaxial cables are only available for 5G/LTE devices.

and lift the Charging port away from assembly using ESD-safe tweezers

*Always use Samsung-authorised genuine parts. Third-party replacement parts may not function properly.

and disconnect a flex cable from the charging port

Main board

Check the point where the Screws are located

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Remove a Screw using a Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

Check all points where the flexible cable connectors & coaxial cable are connected

*The cables and connectors may vary depending on the country, region, or specification.

Disconnect all connectors & coaxial cables from the Main board using Opening pick

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Using the tweezers, lift up on the separator groove to the upper left corner of the Main board and remove the main board module

*The Main board can only be replaced at a Samsung authorised repair store. Please contact Samsung for additional support.

Sub-board

Check the point where the Screws are located

Remove a Screw using a Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

and lift Sub-board away from assembly using ESD-safe tweezers

Place the Heating bag in the microwave and heat it properly following Heating bag's instruction

Place the Heating bag in the microwave and heat it properly following Heating bag's instruction

Speaker #4

Check the 3 points where the Screws are located

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Remove all Screws using Screwdriver

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

Place the Heating bag in the microwave and heat it properly following Heating bag's instruction

*Do not let the temperature of the Heating bag exceed 65˚C. It is recommended that you use a thermometer to properly measure and limit the temperature.

*Make sure the microwave turntable spins freely so that the Heating bag does not get stuck.

*When handling a heated Heating bag, always wear safety gloves and be careful of burns.

Apply Heating bag on Speaker #4 for 3 minutes

In the 5G/LTE devices, separate the two coaxial cables (Light blue and Grey) additionally

*These coaxial cables are only available for 5G/LTE devices.

Turn the speaker upside down carefully and separate a coaxial cable (Light blue) from the back of speaker using tweezers

*These coaxial cables are only available for 5G/LTE devices.

and lift Speaker #4 away from assembly using ESD-safe tweezers

*Always use Samsung-authorised genuine parts. Third-party replacement parts may not function properly.

Vibrator

Using the tweezers, lift up on the separator groove to the right of the vibrator motor, and then carefully remove it from the device

Remove adhesive tape using ESD-safe tweezers 

SIM Card Socket

Using the tweezers, lift up on the separator groove to the left of the SIM Card Socket, and then carefully remove it from the device

*If you feel like the SIM Card Socket is stuck too hard, apply a microwaveable heating bag for two minutes to soften the adhesive. When reheating, it should be heated no longer than 30 seconds.

4 Reassembly

Before proceeding, ensure that no debris or separated screw remains inside the device

*Pause the video while completing each step, then resume when ready to continue.

SIM Card Socket

Attach the SIM Card Socket Adhesive tape to the bottom of the SIM Card Socket and peel the release film

Check the location of where the SIM Card Socket will be located

*The locations of ports and connectors vary by device.

Assemble the SIM Card Socket and gently press down

Vibrator

Attach the Vibrator Adhesive tape to the bottom of the Vibrator and peel the release film

Check the location of where the Vibrator will be located

Assemble the Vibrator and gently press down

Speaker #4

Remove existing adhesive tape and attach the new adhesive tape to the bottom of flexible cable and peel the release film

Speaker Flexible cable Adhesive tape (Bottom-Left)

In the 5G/LTE device, assemble the two coaxial cables with speaker module

*These coaxial cables are only available for 5G/LTE devices.

Connect the light blue coaxial cable with speaker module and turn the speaker module upside down carefully, and assemble the grey coaxial cable to the back with tweezers and your fingers

Using the tweezers, attach the cable stiffener of speaker module carefully and assemble Speaker #4 and gently press down 

Check the 3 points where the Screws are located and fasten them

Screw 3369 (3ea)

Speaker #3

Remove existing adhesive tape and attach the new adhesive tape to the bottom of flexible cable and peel the release film

Assemble the Front camera

Check the positions of the flexible cable connector and connect it to the Main board

Assemble the 2 Main cameras one by one

Check the 2 positions of the flexible cable connectors and connect them to the Main board

Connect a coaxial cable (Light blue) to the Main board.

Check the positions of the battery cable connector and connect it to the Main board

Assemble the Bracket

*Use only high-quality Screwdrivers when servicing products. Low-quality Screwdrivers can easily damage the heads of Screws.

*When assembling, use new Screws.

Check the 20 points where the Screws are located and fasten them

Screen

Attach the new Screen Adhesive tape temporarily after removing only the inner vertical transparent film

Lift the right side of the adhesive tape and remove the inner transparent film from the centre of the inside

Similarly, lift the left side of the adhesive tape and remove the inner transparent film from the centre of the inside

Attach it and gently press down the edges of the tape to ensure a secure fit with tweezers and your fingers.

Remove release film with grabbing the yellow film handle

Check the 2 positions of the flexible cable connectors and connect them to the Screen

Before proceeding, ensure that no debris or separated screws remains inside the device

*Pause the video while completing each step, then resume when ready to continue.

Attach the Screen and press down the edges of the Screen evenly in order to attach it perfectly

*IPXX performance cannot be guaranteed when it is repaired by user or non-skilled person.

Insert the SIM tray back into the slots and push it in its position

Button (Volume key)

Remove the release film of new the volume button

Use your fingers to grab the volume button and insert the button in the slot carefully

*Press down the volume button softly and evenly so that the button can be completely assembled.

Press the volume button to make sure it “clicks.” 

It should have the same sound and feel as before disassembly.
