Google Family Link lets you invite up to five people to join your family group.
Please note: Make sure to have the parent device on hand during the process. Family Link supervision is available on Android devices with operating system 7.0 (Nougat) and higher. Devices with Android versions 5.0 and 6.0 (Lollipop and Marshmallow) may also be able to use Family Link settings.

On your child’s device, swipe up on the home screen to access the apps
Tap Settings
Tap Digital Wellbeing and parental controls
Tap Parental controls
Tap Get started

Tap Child or teenager
Tap Next
Select your child’s Google account or create a new one, if not already done
Enter details of parent account
Scroll down to the bottom
Enter your child’s password and tap Agree
Tap Allow
Tap Next
Decide which apps you’d like to manage
Tap Next
Manage filters & settings
Tap Next
Tap Install Family Link

Open the Google Family Link app which is now installed on your smartphone
Tap Continue
You’re all set up and can now use view Google’s Family Link features

How to use Google Family Link
View your child’s location
Tap Location in the bottom-right corner
Set daily limits for screen time
1. Tap Controls at the bottom
2. Tap on Daily limit
3. Choose the length of time and days
4. Tap Done
Set daily limits for apps
1. Tap Controls at the bottom
2. Tap App limits
3. Select the app you want to limit
4. Set the length of time
5. Tap Done
Add important places you want to be notified about
1. Tap Location in the bottom-right corner
2. Tap on Family places
3. Choose a type of place
4. Enter address details of the new label
5. Tap Arrives and/or Leaves for notifications about that particular place
6. Tap Save
Lock or unlock your child’s smartphone
1. Tap Controls at the bottom
2. Scroll down and tap Devices
3. Select your child’s smartphone
Here you can:
a) Lock/unlock their smartphone
b) Ring their smartphone to help find it
c) Check their battery life and more
Lock your child’s device for the night
1. Tap Controls at the bottom
2. Under Downtime, tap Set up
3. Choose the days and hours you’d like to set a downtime routine for
4. Tap Done
Set bonus time
1. Tap Controls at the bottom
2. Tap Give bonus time
3. Set the amount of bonus time you want to give
4. Tap Add
