  • What is a QLED TV?

QLED TVs, or Quantum Dot LED, TVs are a type of LED television that use Quantum Dots to enhance the display quality. These tiny particles emit light when exposed to an electric current, creating brighter and more vibrant colours compared to standard LED TVs. QLED TVs are therefore able to produce a wide colour gamut, high brightness levels and enhanced colour volume, which means the colours you see on the screen look more accurate and vibrant.

  • QLED and OLED TVs both offer excellent picture quality but they have some distinct differences. OLED TVs are known for their exceptional picture quality, with the ability to turn off individual pixels, resulting in perfect blacks and a high contrast ratio. This makes them ideal for viewing content in darker environments. QLED TVs use quantum dots in conjunction with an LED backlight to enhance brightness and colour volume. They can achieve higher brightness levels, which makes them a great choice for well-lit rooms. Find out more in our QLED vs OLED: Which TV is best for you? guide.
