“Working with Samsung has positively impacted our leasing velocity because people are simply blown away by what they see when they tour,” Rice said. “It's simply unmatched. Their jaws drop and they always bring back their family, friends and realtors which gets the word out.”
Having seen the success with Samsung as a preferred appliance partner, Rice says she anticipates more to come. “I see a strong relationship in the future when it comes to putting these appliances in, because if you want to be the best you have to put the best in.”

The Samsung name was important for the “tech-forward” and sustainably minded AMLI team, who wanted an appliance package that accomplished more for its residents. “Samsung brought together high-quality appliances with a layer of technology that we simply couldn’t find anywhere else,” AMLI Senior Development Associate Matthew Thomson said.
“AMLI has a big push toward sustainability and green investing, so being able to buy ENERGY STAR® appliances helped our green-building message. AMLI Midtown Miami is South Florida’s first LEED Platinum® apartment community, so it is something we were proud of, and Samsung helped us accomplish that,” said Thomson.
Connected Living
According to the AMLI team, Samsung’s connected living appliances help residents see that they are paying for value and innovation. “As the cost of living continues to increase, it comes with higher expectations,” Rice said. “Our prospects see these appliances and it helps justify the price that they are paying.”
Samsung’s digital solutions also helped provide a premium incentive over competitors. “Knowing that Samsung’s SmartThings app was part of their appliance line added to our overall apartment offering, giving us a competitive advantage in South Florida,” Thomson said.
Thomson especially appreciated how Samsung worked to cut down delivery and service times during the build, especially for such a large project. “Working collaboratively with Samsung as our builder partner allowed us to have product variety while maintaining our construction schedule.”
Builder Package
For builders and developers, Samsung’s strong selection of appliances was critical while making the decision for what works for each AMLI property. “I like the variety and choice I have in Samsung appliances. Samsung offers a wide variety of design features and color combinations that we can deliver to our apartments,” Thomson said.
“You can tour any of the competition and they go with the typical appliance package, and then you come into AMLI and it looks different, it feels different, it feels high-end; they love it,” Rice explained. “It’s more what’s expected in a condo vs. something that you see in a typical multifamily rental, so it sets us apart,” said Rice.”
Service and Support
Leased up in a record-setting 15 months, AMLI Midtown Miami required a partner who could offer top-to-bottom support for an ambitious project. “[Samsung] guided me through the buying process to make sure we had adequate timelines for delivery, service and tutorials for our leasing and maintenance teams,” said Thomson. “I appreciated that I had one point of contact throughout the whole development who I could rely on to assist me with anything I needed, including when my onsite management team needed help.”
“It was a challenging time, and I appreciate Samsung for standing by us,” Thomson said. “It’s why AMLI has expanded the relationship with them over the last few years.”
