Jaden Smith makes protecting
the planet look good
The MSFTSrep founder teams up with Samsung for an eco-conscious accessories collection.

You can care about the environment and look stylish doing it. That’s the message of this special collaboration between Samsung Galaxy and MSFTSrep (short for “misfits republic”), Jaden Smith’s label that’s dedicated to helping creative mavericks share their ideas. “Every designer has the responsibility to design with sustainability and the Earth in mind,” he says. And that sustainable design philosophy is on full display with these limited-edition1 cases for Galaxy Z Flip4, S23 Ultra, Buds2 Pro and a colorful Galaxy Watch5 band.

Collab for a cause
Created by Jaden, MSFTSrep is a collective of individuals dedicated to evolving the consciousness of humanity through science and art. In this collaboration, Samsung has teamed up with MSFTSrep to showcase their shared values and highlight signature designs from the MSFTSrep spring collection. The limited series of accessories featuring designs created by Jaden himself (MSFTSrep Classic, MSFTSrep Trippy Summer Spiral, MSFTSrep Snowprint, Wavy Rainbow) allows like-minded people to express their unique style and commitment to the environment.

Inspired by science
and history
In designing this collection made for the modern age, Jaden sought inspiration from the past. Old books and manuscripts informed much of his work, both for their ancient knowledge and the interesting visual inspiration contained within. “Every time that we design, we go into the history books, we go into the science textbooks,” Jaden says. He uses these references as jumping-off points, transforming them into totally unique designs. Antique engravings become abstract black-and-white flourishes. Illustrations from a solar system textbook become colorful geometric patterns.

Personal expression meets wearable tech
Fashion and technology are becoming increasingly connected, thanks to new forms of personal expression online and IRL. From colorful phones to custom avatars, individuality is trending and bland tech designs are on their way out. With this eco-conscious collection, MSFTSrep and Samsung wanted to help people embrace this new world of wearable tech. Jaden's boundary-pushing designs intersect with Samsung innovation to create a fashion collection unlike any other.

Moving toward a sustainable future
From Apple Skin™ to recycled plastics, Samsung has been incorporating environmentally conscious and bio-based materials in their designs to reduce waste and help the planet. When it came to Jaden’s vision, Samsung and the artist worked together to choose materials that factored in both style and sustainability. They chose TOTO-TOA, partially degradable polycarbonate and TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) containing recycled material diverted from the waste stream during the manufacturing process.2

Waste less and look
your best
For Jaden, personal style is essential to being your true self. But keeping your
fashion fresh doesn’t have to mean throwing away old clothes and buying new.
Now, by teaming up with Samsung, Jaden can take these guiding principles to new heights in the worlds of fashion and art. “I felt like Samsung would truly understand the vision of not only MSFTS, but the vision of sustainability that we hold as a movement,” he says. "I knew they’d allow us to collaborate in a way that would
let us express our vision the way that we wanted it.”
