keep you in the loop
Home Care: a modern approach to appliance care
Here’s a pretty common appliance repair experience: Your dryer stops working properly, and when you call the repair company to get it fixed, you’re left doing your best impression of the clunking sound it makes. Was it a ka-chunk or more of a ka-gunk? Unable to diagnose it over the phone and unable to give you a quote, the company tells you they have to come out, for a fee, to take a look at the dryer for themselves. Unfortunately, they don’t have any availabilities for a week. Eventually, they do make it out, manage to figure out the problem after a few hours and tell you they’ll be back with the part… next week. You’re left hanging out to dry with your clothes while your dryer waits to get diagnosed and repaired.
This is where Samsung technology steps in.
Your SmartThings-enabled Samsung dryer is spinning but isn’t drying as thoroughly as before. As part of its proactive maintenance and error monitoring, and before you even notice its issue, your dryer sends an alert to your SmartThings1 app with an error code that corresponds to the problem, plus a detailed explanation. It also includes a link to set up an in-home service request. You click the link and the app triages the problem, schedules an appointment, provides an estimate for the repair, and gives you the option of processing payment right there. The system sends you a link where you can monitor the end-to-end service request process, including a map where you can monitor your provider’s approach on the day-of the repair. Armed with the error code, Samsung Certified Technicians know exactly what part to bring and exactly what to expect, minimizing your down time and service delays. That’s end-to-end repair service without the hassle.
Making appliance self-repair and maintenance smarter
Every appliance issue is different and may necessitate a different solution. Sometimes, professional repair isn’t required and you can handle it yourself. As part of the alert process, and for certain qualified repairs that can be done by a user, the Care system will send you an error code and a link to an empowered self-resolution experience. Clicking the link will take you to a webpage with steps to correct the error or troubleshoot it. If you’re still having trouble, you can follow the steps to request an in-home repair appointment.
In addition to proactively monitoring for errors, Samsung connected appliances also keep an eye on maintenance needs like swapping out dryer filters. In these cases, you’ll also still receive a notification on your SmartThings app and the option to take care of it yourself. If you require the assistance of a professional, you can click the link to begin that process as well. When you think of service support, what comes to mind? Probably long hold times and getting the run around? Well, that’s exactly what Samsung Care was built to avoid. Samsung Care is outstanding product service support that puts you first, with an approach that’s compassionate, flexible, and most importantly, human. It includes a wide range of benefits that work with you, to make sure your new Samsung product works the way it’s supposed to. Samsung Care is tailored to the product you purchase, whether it’s a new mobile device, TV or
home appliance.
Warranty vs. out-of-warranty repairs
When it comes to the proactive monitoring and the repair process, there’s only a slight difference between in-warranty and out-of-warranty appliances. All home appliances come with a 12-month warranty. Be sure to review what is covered in your warranty.2 For products still under their 12-month warranty, there’s no fee for in-home repair.3 For out-of-warranty repairs, Samsung offers a process using an authorized service center. Rather than spending time shopping around and getting a quote that could include several diagnostic fees and unknown extra charges, you get all of the information for your claim in one, easy transparent process online that provides you a quote that includes parts and labor. This one-time fee is the only amount you’ll pay, even if the repair ends up actually costing more. You can also find product repair services on the Samsung Support page. Just input the product serial number and you can get it repaired for a single fee. No matter how you choose to get your appliance repaired with Samsung, every service includes a 90-day workmanship warranty.
An appliance that isn’t working properly is frustrating enough, why should getting it repaired be even harder? Thanks to Samsung’s connected appliances that are
powered by SmartThings, convenient end-to-end repair service is the new standard for appliance repair. Proactive repair and error monitoring helps prolong the life of your appliances, keeps you in the loop and gives you the peace of mind for an easy, convenient repair if something ever goes wrong.
