Connected appliances that
keep you in the loop
Built for a better world
Having a clearer understanding of how you use energy is an important first step to an energy-efficient lifestyle. The good news is that Samsung does a lot of the initial heavy lifting for you. And with SmartThings AI, they’re built smarter than ever, so you can be confident that you’re already on the right path to energy-efficient, more responsible living. From refrigerators to laundry to dishwashers, Samsung is a leader in energy efficient appliances.
100% of Samsung dishwashers & front load washers, 94% of refrigerators, and 48% of top-load washer and dryers are ENERGY STAR certified. Paired with the Bespoke Ultra Capacity Front Load Washer with AI OptiWash and Auto Dispense, SmartThings Energy takes efficiency to the next level. And with SmartThings AI Energy Mode,¹ you can enhance the power efficiency of your connected washers and dryers even more.
The manager is in
There’s nothing fun about looking at month after month of high energy bills. But there's something you can do to use less energy each month. With Samsung’s range of SmartThings-enabled products, you can manage and monitor your energy usage in real time and set monthly targets for your household appliances from the convenience of an app – and that’s just the beginning. With SmartThings AI Energy Mode, you can help proactively reduce your appliance energy usage. It learns your habits and adjusts settings to save energy. For example, on SmartThings AI Mode, the Bespoke Refrigerator analyzes how long and frequently you leave the doors open and fluctuations in temperature to optimize compressor and defrost settings,
saving energy.¹
Want to set up your home smarter? Getting started is easy.

or appliance.
Step 3:
You can check each appliance’s energy
usage hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.
Step 4:
To proactively reduce energy usage, activate AI Energy Mode and optimize device settings to meet your preset target and see how much energy you can save.
Good for the grid
It’s simple economics – when something is in high demand, the price goes up.
The same holds true for energy. During peak hours in certain situations, there’s
more demand on the grid, so the price of energy goes up. If the demand is much greater, power companies may subsidize their output with older, more carbon-intensive methods.³ Too much demand on the grid and you may even experience brown outs, or a temporary drop in voltage. To help consumers monitor and save energy, Samsung’s SmartThings Energy has partnered with utility providers and grid-service programs to create the first-of-its-kind ENERGY STAR® certified Smart Home Energy Management System (SHEMS). It helps reduces demand on the grid during peak times or emergency situations. And if you’re a resident of New York or California in an eligible area, you can earn cash rewards for participating in demand response programs through SmartThings Energy. To find out if you can participate, just activate SmartThings Energy in the SmartThings app and input your zip code to see if you live in an eligible area. Once signed up, you’ll be notified when it’s peak hours and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the energy consumption of your entire zip code. It’s an easy and rewarding way to be more aware of how you use energy.
Energy Awareness Month is an excellent time to reflect on your household energy use and consider living a more energy-efficient lifestyle. Don’t worry, this isn’t an intense energy diet that means losing out on doing what you love — it’s just a more considerate, informed way of managing your home energy consumption. When you’re equipped with both Samsung ENERGY STAR®- certified appliances and SmartThing’s powerful suite of energy-management features Energy Awareness Month may just make your whole year.
