Transfer Samsung Wallet to your new phone with Smart Switch

With Samsung Smart Switch, you can transfer your Samsung Wallet data from your old phone to your new phone. Please use the steps below to transfer your data.

1. First, make sure the Smart Switch app is installed on both phones, and plug them into their chargers. Both phones must have a charge of at least 20% to use Smart Switch.
2. When you're ready, place the phones within four inches of each other.
3. Next, navigate to and open the Smart Switch app on both phones, and allow the permissions if prompted. You can find Smart Switch by opening Settings, and then searching for and selecting Smart Switch.
   
   Note: Alternatively, you can navigate to the Samsung folder on the Apps screen, and open Smart Switch from there.
4. On the old phone, tap Send data, and choose your desired transfer method: Cable or Wireless.
   
   
5. On your new phone, tap Receive data, then tap Galaxy/Android, and then tap the desired transfer method you chose on the old phone: Cable or Wireless.
   
   
6. Tap Connect on the old phone, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the devices. This will differ depending on the transfer method chosen. Smart Switch will begin scanning the old phone for transferrable content.
7. After the scan, select the data you’d like to transfer to the new phone. To ensure Samsung Wallet is transferred, tap Everything. Be sure to select the additional items you would like to transfer as well. Then, tap Next on the new phone.
   
   Note: If you do not want to transfer everything, tap Custom.
8. An estimate of the transfer time will be displayed. If the transfer will take more than an hour, you may want to use a wireless transfer so both phones can be charged during the transfer.
9. When the transfer is finished, tap Done on the old phone. You can now use all of your old phone’s apps, including Samsung Wallet, on your new phone.

Set up for new users

If you have never used Samsung Wallet on your previous phone, you can use the steps below to set it up.

1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Wallet app, then review the information, and then tap Continue.
2. You will be asked to verify your Samsung account. Enter your account credentials to sign in.
3. Next, select your verification method. You can tap Use fingerprint or Skip and use Samsung Wallet PIN. Follow the instructions to set up your desired method.
   
   
4. From the Samsung Wallet Home page, you can select from the following tabs at the bottom of the screen:
   • Perks: Use Samsung Wallet perks, such as cash back and top deals. Tap the search field to search for available deals or swipe up to view the different categories, such as Pets, Apparel, Health, Kids, and Restaurants. Select a category you’d like to check out, and then tap Earn cash back at the bottom to start shopping and earning cash back rewards.
   • Quick access: Quick access allows you to see your cash back awards, memberships, and payment cards at a glance. Tap Add (the plus sign) to add a new payment method or item, such as Payment cards, Memberships, Gift cards, Coupons, or Health passes.
   • Menu: You can manage Samsung Wallet’s settings and options by tapping the Settings icon in the top right corner, and then selecting the options you’d like to change. You can also add new payment methods or items, view notifications, use Samsung Money by SoFI, and set up Samsung Pass.

Set up for existing users

If you used Samsung Wallet on your previous phone and would like to continue using it on your new phone, you can use the steps below to set it up.

1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Wallet app, and then tap Use PIN or Use fingerprint on the pop-up. You may be prompted to set up your PIN or fingerprint.
   
   
2. Unlock Samsung Wallet using your PIN or fingerprint, and then tap the Menu tab.
   
   
3. You will see your existing items, such as Payment cards, Memberships, Gift cards, Digital keys, and other items that have been previously added. To manage your digital items, simply tap your desired category.
   
   
4. From here, you can activate cards, add items, and remove items. Please keep in mind that the available functions and options will depend on the category chosen.

Add a new card or item

1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Wallet app, and then enter your credentials to unlock the app. Tap the Menu tab, and then tap Payment cards.
   
   Note: If you’d like to add a different item, simply select another category, such as Digital keys, Digital IDs, or Boarding passes. Then, follow the instructions to add your item.
   
   
2. To add a new card, tap Add (the plus sign), and then tap Add payment cards.
   
   Note: You can also select from other options on this screen, such as Add Paypal or Add a card by QR code.
   
   
3. Allow the permissions, and then follow the instructions to add your card. Position your card inside the displayed frame so that it can be captured. You can also manually add the information instead.
4. Next, enter the missing information if needed, such as the cardholder’s name and zip code. Tap Next.
5. Allow the permissions, then review the Terms of Service, and then tap Agree.
6. Tap Open banking app to continue the process with your banking app. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify and activate your card in Samsung Wallet.
7. You can continue adding payment cards by tapping Add (the plus sign) from the Menu tab. Or, you can tap Add (the plus sign) from the Quick access tab.

Activate a previously added card

1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Wallet app, and then enter your credentials to unlock the app. Tap the Menu tab, and then tap Payment cards.
2. Tap Activate next to the desired card, and then enter your credentials.
   
   
3. Next, enter the missing information if needed, such as the cardholder’s name and zip code. Tap Next.
4. Allow the permissions, then review the Terms of Service, and then tap Agree.
5. Tap Open banking app to continue the process with your banking app. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify and activate your card in Samsung Wallet.
