How TV screens
are measured
TV screen size is measured from corner to corner, diagonally. The distance between the two is given in inches.
Bigger is best
One of the main reasons people buy a new TV is to upgrade the screen size from their previous TV. So if you have space to spare in your preferred TV spot, we recommend making the most of it by purchasing the largest screen that will fit. And if you’re mounting your TV on the wall, you’ll probably have plenty of room to go as big as you like.
Recommended viewing distance
It's easy to determine the ideal seating distance for the most immersive viewing experience. Check out the following video to learn how, or see the table below it for the most common examples.
Other things to keep in mind
Check the full TV dimensions
Check how much room you have in your entertainment center to make sure you’ll have room for the TV you want. You can easily find out the full dimensions of any Samsung TV by looking under the Specs for ‘Set Size’.
Resolution is important
The higher the resolution, the more pixels will be displayed on screen. And the bigger the TV, the more pixels the better. 4K resolution is the new standard of quality, but 8K is now available if you want the sharpest screen possible.
