Can I charge my Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ with a Micro USB cable?

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ have a USB-C port, for which you will need a USB-C connector.

You can use a Micro USB cable to charge your S8 by connecting your old Micro USB cable to the Micro USB connector.

Note that charger amperage may vary, and using the wrong charger can damage the device or cause it to charge more slowly. We recommend using an official Samsung charger, preferably the one that came in the box.

Please do not plug a Micro USB cable directly into the device's multipurpose jack. This is likely to damage the device and the cable.
