Adjust the Picture Settings on your Samsung TV

Adjust the picture settings of your Samsung TV and enjoy watching your favourite movies and TVs. You can select a picture mode, change the picture size or customise the picture settings itself to your liking.

Depending on what you are watching or the time of day, you can choose a picture mode that suits your liking. Navigate through the steps below to learn how. 

1 Press the Home button on your remote control and then head to Settings

2 Navigate to All Settings

3 Select Picture and then Picture Mode
Select Picture and then Picture Mode
4 Choose a Picture Mode:
  • Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
  • Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
  • Eco: This screen is provided to save energy
  • Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
  • Filmmaker Mode: Watch content without any changes to the picture settings

Note: Settings will vary depending on the model of your TV. Picture Mode settings may differ if your compatible TV has Intelligent Mode enabled.

Choose a Picture Mode

Does the content you are watching appear stretched or cut off? Try adjusting the picture aspect ratio through the steps below. 

1 Press the Home button on your remote control and then head to Settings

2 Navigate to All Settings

3 Select Picture and then Picture Size Settings
Select Picture and then Picture Size Settings
4 Here you can adjust your Picture Size Settings:
  • Picture Size: Select the picture aspect ratio that best suits your viewing environment - 16:9 Standard, Custom or 4:3
  • Fit to Screen: Expand the picture to fit the screen
  • Zoom and Position: Adjust the picture size or position

Note:

  • Supported picture sizes differ with the input signal. These functions may not be available on Samsung TV Plus and some applications
  • The 4:3 mode is not available when an external device is connected to the TV via a component connector or an HDMI connector
  • This function may not be supported depending on the Picture Size setting or broadcast signals
  • Fit to Screen is available only if Picture Size is set to Custom. To change the picture position on analogue channels, first enlarge the picture and then change the position
  • Zoom and Position is available only if Picture Size is set to Custom. To change the picture position on analogue channels, first enlarge the picture and then change the position

Fine-tune the picture settings to make it exactly to your liking. You can change settings such as the brightness, contrast, colour and sharpness.

3 Select Picture and then Expert Settings
Select Picture then Expert Settings
4 Here you can customise the picture settings to your liking. Some settings you can adjust include:
  • Brightness: Adjust the overall picture brightness
  • Contrast: Adjust the difference in contrast between the light and dark colours 
  • Sharpness: Adjust the outline sharpness of objects 
  • Colour: Adjust the colour saturation levels 
  • Tint (G/R): Adjust the ratio of green to red tint levels
