We strive to build online safety into our products through in-built apps, safety features and tools such as Samsung Kids.
Who looks after online safety in Australia?
eSafety↗ is Australia’s independent regulator for online safety. eSafety is focused on helping Australians stay safe online and has certain powers under the Online Safety Act and to prevent online harm through research, education programs and raising awareness.
Under the Online Safety Act, Samsung Electronics Australia is required to comply with a number of industry codes, which are designed to help protect Australians from illegal or harmful online content.
What is unlawful or harmful content?
Unlawful online content refers to content that includes the most seriously harmful content. This includes images and videos showing the sexual abuse of children or acts of terrorism, as well as content that should not be accessed by children, such as simulated sexual activity, detailed nudity or high impact violence.
Other types of content that you can report include:
• Cyberbullying targeted at a child or cyber abuse targeted at an adult
• Non-consensual intimate images
• Content that promotes, incites, instructs in or depicts abhorrent violent conduct

How to report unlawful or harmful content
and breaches of online safety codes in Australia?
You can report a complaint about cyberbullying, adult cyber abuse, image-based abuse (sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images without the consent of the person shown) or illegal and restricted online content.
Report to Third Party Provider
If you see unlawful or harmful content on a third party application or platform, you can report the content directly to the third party provider.
Report to Samsung
If you see unlawful or harmful content on Samsung’s apps or services (or any breach of an online safety industry code), you can contact Samsung Electronics Australia by contacting emailing [email protected].

Samsung Accounts for Children
Create a Samsung Child Account for your child’s mobile device to set up boundaries that are right for your family. Our parental control features include:
• Setting limits on playtime;
• Giving specific access to websites, apps etc; and
• a usage report to see what your child is doing online. and games downloads and in-app purchases, sharing location and monitoring screen time. See Samsung Kids for more information.
Google Family Link
For older children, ‘Google Family Link for parents’ can facilitate setting parental controls on your child device such as setting content restrictions to ensure your child is only viewing age appropriate content and keeping an eye on screen time.

Parental controls on TV’s
